my boyfriend and his sister got me listening to them on our trip to lake tahoe... with a long trip (9 hours) in the car our only options were sleep or have sing alongs, so guess what we did? yup and flogging molly is a pretty cool band. i think they are getting popular now, but im not sure. they have out drunken lullaby and swagger, i like them both. but has anyone else heard of them? if so what do you think about them?

Here's a fun fact. The Dave King, the singer used to be in a cheese metal band called Fastway with Fasy Eddie Clark after he left Motorhead.
As for Flogging Molly... they are okay but they are far from the best of the celtic punk bands. If you like them you really should checkout the following:
The Pogues
Shane MacGowan & the Popes
Blood or Whiskey
Tossers
Real McKenzies
Neck
Skels
Mahones
And checkout this website for others:

Oh and flogging molly also have an album "Alive Behind the Green Door" or something like that.

The Pogues pretty much started it all. They were influenced by many other bands/artists but they were the first to fuse punk and Irish trad. Any of their albums with Shane MacGowan singing is worth having. Without the Pogues this whole subgenre probably wouldn't even exist.

I saw Flogging Molly play at a festival a couple of years ago and they were really good but I never got round to checking out any of their Cds except the few demos that they threw into the crowd. I got a cd that hit my mate's sister in the head.

I really can't remember now - it was a couple of summers ago but now it's been chucked out ... my Dad tidied up and it got binned.
My mate's sister was really not pleased that I got her cd
