THIS POST HAS EXCESSIVE AND UNNECESSARY AMOUNTS OF QUOTED PROFANITY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I am so sorry this post turned out to be so much reading, but if anyone knows this band please help me out!! Do these guys actually have a political philosophy or are they just confused as hell? I know I am. Even if you don't know the band, if you can figure this out, please tell me!!

Okay, this Hardcore Punk/Hip Hop band I like called Hed PE kind of confuses me. By looking at them they appear to be rebellious, they are a punk band which generally tends to be more to the left but not necessarily, but they sing about politics allot. The problem is they send me allot of mixed messages and I can't figure out what the hell they are! Besides the songs where they just talk about sex and swearing, they talk about all kinds of political stuff. Allot of their songs have clips of President Obama's speeches at the beginning of them too. They are very VERY anti censorship and they are always complaining about the big corporations. In a few of their blog posts they talk about medical marijuana, (they support marijuana) they talk about how the words Communism and Socialism are being thrown around like the "N" word, and all they want to do is "feed the poor and make sure everyone has healthcare". They also say "Does that make me a communist? Oh hell no!! Absolutely not. Communism implies that the State/Government owns EVERY means of production. EVERY industry. Get it right. Stop throwing around words that you have no true understanding of. Mostly, I see that it is racist, selfish motherfuckers that are all worked up right now. Nigga in the Whitehouse!!! Run for the hills!!! hahahahaha!!! Fuck Em." It then goes on for a few more sentences and says this at the end of it all: "Have a beautiful, blessing filled week. Good luck with everything you do!!! GOD BLESS ....AMERICA....!!!" (That was directly copy and pasted from their blog on myspace, read the whole thing, it talks about allot. http://www.myspace.com/hedpe/blog/505889258 )

In the song "Babylon Fall" they say "Anarchy motherfucker, global Anarchy!"
and then it talks about messing with city hall and bombing "the system"
then it says "The powers that be can suck a big fat dick, because we are Anarchists and we fuck the rich. Yes we can, yes we will, make a difference."

In the song "Stay Ready" they say "2008 - anotha fake election, Anotha fake politician, Anotha distraction, Brought to you by your fake TV, Station
#1 source of manipulation, #1 source of fake information, Standby...mesmerize the nation, Lets induce mass hallucination, Load em all up into the Concentration camps, Got damn uncle sam, I'm not just a number, I'm just a man, I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them sam i am.
Gonna make a stand, Fight the system and the New world plan. Fight the fascists and the hidden Hand, Fight religion and he vatican"

Then they say "Don't fuck with us cuz we're sick of your shit and we're ready to fight for truth and justice, are you ready to die for this? Let's get it on!"

They have a song called "4SmokazOnly" which is just about smoking a shit ton of weed, theres not really any relevant lyrics, it is pretty much all in the title.

In the song "No Rest For The Wicked", they say "I'm a soldier boy, I paid my dues, I'm a citizen, Red white and blue, on independence day, i've got love."
but then it says "I'm a rebel son, I paid my dues, I'm a citizen, red black and blue."

In the song "Middle Class Blues" it just talks about how it seems like everyone else is against the middle class, and how he wants to stand up for himself.

They have another song called "Capitalist Conspiracy" but it is just an intro to a song, with a little audio clip from a news station, but I can't find the lyrics, its only like 5 seconds long though,

They have a bunch of songs about the "New World Order" and they have a bunch of other ones about Planet X and Niburu, but I don't know much about that.

In the song "Represent", they say "Make a choice motherfucker make a choice, you can't silence the voice of a rebel. I'm talking American made hand grenades, home-grown Russian AK47's adapted now, fully automatic. Start the Revolution, let these commies fucking have it."

In the song "War" they say:
"Don't you want your freedom? War! Do you not daydream? War! See how we split the atom, and bring them to their fucking knees. Here we go. The police man cannot stop me now. I smoke the best pot in town. I fuck a slut I come up in her mouth, I do whatever the fuck I want because I'm an American, *****! We run this shit, you're all gay, *****! We got guns and shit, you're all lame, *****!"

In the song "Wake Up", they say "Semper Fi, put em' up, I'm ready for a fight. These first amendment rights guaranteed to me regardless if I say shit you don't like" and then they say "Why is life as cold as hell? And why can't I control myself? Why am I so insecure? I don't even know myself. I'm so fucking immature I tried to grow hydro myself, If I had the power I'd bring back the twin towers myself, then I'd gather up all the Al Qaeda cowards, now you'll all burn in hell! Now you know not to fuck with my brother Nick Berg, now shut the fuck up, or I'll go straight punk and blow your whole block up. Wake up Nigga, wake up motherfucker wake up, I don't give a fuck motherfucker wake up, you're not punk rock, *****, you're just a punk."

Okay basically, this band confuses the hell out of me. What I am getting from them is that I think they are Anarcho-Cappies, but with an apparent homophobic and/or sexist problem, (frequently using words such as ho, faggot, pussy, gay, and writing a large amount of songs about having sex, like "Cum ***** cum", "Foreplay", "Everything All The Time", and the number one hit single "Amerikan Beauty", which is about having sex with underage teenage girls. . .)strong patriotic feelings towards the US and Obama... and they also believe in multiple conspiracies, and they hate the corporate pigs who censor them, they want healthcare for everyone and to feed the poor, but Socialism and Communism are bad. . . somehow. . . I don't know, just check out that blog link I posted and maybe listen to some of these songs on Youtube if you really want, I doubt anyone will like their musical style but you can if you want. Here is the link again: http://www.myspace.com/hedpe/blog/505889258

Also, all of the patriotic sounding songs were on their album "Only In Amerika", the album was mainly about doing whatever you want and fighting censorship. They made the album as profane and sexual as possible. Most of the disturbing songs about rape and sex with hookers or teenage girls are also on this album, as are their songs about fighting censorship.

The album "NWO: New World Orphans" is the album with all of the conspiracy theories, Anarchy references, being a revolutionary and fighting for a cause, and weed legalization, it also has significantly less rape, profanity, homophobia, and sexism. This album came out after "Only in Amerika".

The album "Truth Rising" is the album that just came out in 2010, and it is pretty much all about conspiracies, revealing the truth about who actually controls us all, and whatever they mean by a "Capitalist Conspiracy". So maybe they aren't capitalists. . . or Communists, I don't know what to think, what do you guys think?

The fact that this is so long is probably the reason nobody has answered me, and for that I apologize again lol. But does anyone at all know what to think of this band?

I know Hed PE. Ive been a fan since Broke came out 10 years ago. Ive seen 'em live like 5 times. They dont know what the fuck they are talking about, like many bands out there. They are hypocritical and confuse the issues. They are seemingly pro anarchary and chaos.

Their older shit was ALOT less political and their past few albums I actually dont like. Their old shit was still conflicted... They were more rapcore and less punk back in the day which is more my style.

I wondered this myself for the longest time... what do they stand for? I would say they are both pro AND anti america, lol. My fav shirt I own is a hedpe shirt... It is a pot leaf shaded in the us flag. It says I like america and i like weed... go figure huh?

But since I dont base my political ideologies on music, I can still enjoy it. :)

They're supposed to be big supporters of the 9/11 conspiracy theories and a lot of their songs are about that subject. Probably just wannabe anti-establishment ignoramuses.

I haven't listened to them with any kind of regularity for over 10 years, but from what I know of them, your first mistake is calling them punk. The shit I've heard is more properly describable as rap-core/funk than anything else.

I know, sorry about the "Punk" thing, I don't really care. They describe themselves as G-Punk, but that isn't the point. And I also agree with you Blood Sickle, I don't base my views on music either and I will listen to them anyways because I like the music. But I do tend to get into music that sings about views I agree with, so Hed PE confused me, because they come from so many conflicted points of view. Thank you everyone who took the time to read this and answer. :)
