Did this turn out to be a hoax or is something like this just not interesting to the users of revleft? Seems like big shit to me.

I've heard otherwise. There is a news blackout for a reason.

The first article quotes another article from infowars.com and is obviously biased in favor of the coal industry. I don't know that I could find any reliable information from that source.

I'll put this one down to hysterical journalism until there are other sources to prove otherwise.

Nothing like cashing in on the fukushima gravy train to sell papers and get website hits eh?

Edit: it isnt a crisis yet then.

The Nebraska plant, located along the swollen Missouri River, is currently surrounded (http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/06/27/nebraska.flooding/index.html?iref=allsearch&iid=EL) by about two feet of water. The facility, designed to withstand at least eight more feet of water, is reportedly dry inside, shut down and not thought to be in any immediate danger.

They have no right to supress this important news. The public has a right to know, under the First Amendment.

If there is a news blackout still. There is indeed something wrong. I hope everything goes okay over there.

What important news?

The first article is written by a source biased towards the coal industry and the second by CNN has expressed there is no imminent danger.

Carpet coverage by the mainstream media would only serve to cook up a public frenzy of frothy mouthed hysteria and general ignorance.

Moreover, even if there was a news 'blackout' it is clearly ineffectual as shown by the existence of these articles..
