Wasn't quite sure what forum to put this in, but I thought there might be a discussion here and maybe someone would find it interesting. :)
Here is the whole song:

President Obama is not a terrorist he is trying to do what he believes is right to do
Brilliant Defense. Same could be said of Osama Bin Laden.
We are trying to defend ourselves against people who killed us on 9/11
We are trying to defend ourselves against people who killed us on 1/1,1/2,1/3...12/31
In response to why we went into Afghanistan
To deprive Al-Qaeda of their sanctuary, we removed the Taliban government
Wait so what you're saying is that the Taliban still isn't there now? So you failed both the main and side objective.

Haha I wish our far-left point of view was more widespread instead of people like Bill O'Reilly's point of view because then at least people would be smart enough to see how funny people like this actually are when they talk. :)

Lupe Fiasco honestly completely failed at that argument.

lupe didn't lose the argument, they just made it look that way. his responses were obviously and heavily edited. the people who run FOX won't waste their money allowing true words to be said on their lying network.

Yeah but that album sucked to be honest. Word I Never Said was pretty much one of the few good songs on it. If you want to get into Lupe Fiasco, look into his two previous albums.

Music aside, I must say that I'm personally on Lupe Fiasco's side. On the other hand, of course, you can practically make any man look like a genius if you allow him to be interviewed by ol' Papa Bear himself.
I mean, seriously: we're talking about a man [O'Reilly] who compared the natural phenomenon known as the tide to the mystery of a celestial super being [God].
BTW, loved Lupe Fiasco's song "Superstars".

Bill O'Reilly is worse than Sarah Palin, every time I see him make an argument I have to remind myself that he isn't actually trolling

He used to bash Obama left and right, now he's sticking up for him? Bill O' Reilly uses these same arguments against anyone who challenges him. I fear him ever running for president because of the way he wants our society to be.

What are you talking about? Lasers is an awesome album. His other two are good, don't get me wrong, but owning them all, I have to say they're all equally great. The only difference with Lasers, is that it's a lot more politically charged then his other two albums. Especially Food & Liquor.
All but the last track on Lasers had a good flow and everything.

The more electronica-influenced sound on the album was forced upon and didn't fit too well with his style and the hooks were just bad. I didn't even find the political content that interesting and especially didn't find it good enough to make up for the downsides of the album. I didn't even find Words I Never Said to be a good song for its political and lyrical content as much as I thought it was an overall good piece of music.

Yeah, I agree. The pop synthesizer style just doesn't work well, it sounds somewhere inbetween Rhiana and Kanye West. The politics is also very forced and preachy. His earlier stuff explores social and cultural landscapes, rather then preaching halfbaked righteous and vague political statements.

I like Lupe but he comes across confused and conflicted. He talks in his song conflict diamonds how people are being oppressed by greed, but then goes on to say he might go get himself a pinky ring later that SAME day. His job is to appeal to a mass amount of people however, not a specific minority.

I believe he was trying to express the irony of those who preach one thing, yet go and do the opposite of what they were just preaching about, the next.

Irony? It's called hypocrisy. Listen to the first half the song and tell me HE HIMSELF is not contradictory?
Anyways, I think he ACTUALLY believes diamonds are ridiculous (they are) but is wary to piss off the ENTIRE industry, which when you think about it, is probably worse than blind hypocrisy in the first place.

I've listened to it countless times. He's trying to tell people just what I tried explaining to you. He's not actually married in real life, or at least not when he was making the song, etc., so it's a bit misguided to think he's a hypocrite for saying all that stuff, and yet continue on when he's not even married, but trying to make a point about those who do have big flashy engagement rings and whatever, are actually the hypocrites.

Good old familyfriendly racism.

Yeah man because the problem with capitalism today is what faction of the ruling class is leading it, after all.
