Hello, I'm new here. . .lurked for a few days and I couldn't resist! I just had to join and even became a 6 month subscriber :)
I'm a 30-something living in South Carolina. My views have always tended toward the left. It's odd given that I'm a military brat and even joined up myself for 4 years. (Please keep the rotten tomatoes to yourself ;) )
I would mostly like to learn more and perhaps become more of an activist. I'm currently part of a group called "Liberal Drinking" and when we aren't drinking, we do march/picket/do voter drive etc.
I love the ideas and posts on this board. It gives me a lot of food for though and serves as a springboard for further learning.
One thing that kinda "gets" me. . .I'm a little fearful that I might get branded as something or even restricted or banned for saying the "wrong" thing. If I inadvertently say something "wrong". . .it's only because I'm not well versed in leftist ideology and I never try to say things just to push buttons.
So I'll probably lurk a little longer just so I get a feel of the "dynamic" here and not step on anyone's toes. . .PLUS since perusing, I feel there is so much I have to read in order to be able to contribute anything meaningful anyway :P
So my 2 doggies (both fighting to sit on my lap) and I wave and say hello!
