Fit boys and the freezing atlantic, unless you go to algarve aka english part of Portugal.

You local beach has icebergs and the waters must be really warm, and the sand must be good too with lots of stones to cut your feet.

The Gulf Coast of Florida pwns every last one of these places. I grew up running around on beaches that look just like the one below. That water is like 80º F (26.6º C) this time a year, btw.

I live two hours away from both the gulf coast and the atlantic, so I may visit either one in a day trip. I also live like, 8 hours or so from the Keys so it's not so far that one cannot take a few day long trip down there. I also live like, an hour from Cedar Key, which doesn't have much in the way of beach, but it still has one.

Our sand is nicer. It's sugar white, which means it doesn't get hot even in 100º F heat, and it's super soft.

Besides, I gotta wonder about the water temps at these European beaches that aren't on the Mediterranean. Believe me when I say that the Gulf of Mexico is like swimming in bath water.
The keys are sooooo fucking nice.
Yes, yes they are sir. +1 more for Florida. As for the bourgeois comment made by Kuppo, well, somebody should inform him that per capita income in my home town is roughly 23K a year... Hardly fabulously wealthy. There's a reason why the call it the Redneck Riviera.

Enjoy having to clean up your feet when leaving the beach to get in the car.
Enjoy having tiny sand in every cavity of your body.
And enjoy being whiplashed by sand-whips every time there's a tiny breeze.

I fucking hate beaches, all beaches.
HEY LET'S GO GET HALF NAKED AND GO TO A PLACE WITH A LOT OF SAND THAT GETS FUCKING EVERYWHERE AND MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO JUST FUCKING SIT DOWN ON A BLANKET OR WHATNOT WITHOUT GETTING FUCKING PEBBLES IN OUR ASSCRACKS, THEN GO IN THE WATER SO THAT THE SAND CAN STICK TO OUR SKIN AND BE EVEN MORE OF A PAIN IN THE ASS, ALL THE WHILE SURROUNDED BY FAT, UGLY PEOPLE IN EQUALLY REVEALING CLOTHES. IF WE'RE LUCKY, THERE'LL BE SOME GUY JACKING OFF IN THE BUSHES!
I fucking hate beaches.
Edit: like, seriously, even the thought of going to a beach makes me fucking groan and shit because it's such a hugely fucking terrible experience. I don't understand why anyone would voluntarily go to a beach.

Never had a problem with that. Then again, my cavities aren't especially cavernous.
And enjoy being whiplashed by sand-whips every time there's a tiny breeze.
Generally, the winds aren't that high on the Gulf's coastline excepting hurricanes of course. It may also have something to do with the density of the actual granules as well, but I've never had a problem with that either. The only time I can recall getting sand in my eye was when my little brother threw it at me.
