I am from ••••••••••, Texas. My name is ••••••••••••, and I am twenty years old. I write poetry in my spare time. I am an anti-authoritarian leftist who thinks Obama is a neocon in Progressive rhetoric and clothing, basically a black and hansdomer and well-articulated version of Dubya. I have mild Asperger's. I am a music lover as well as a book lover. The Who, Pink Floyd, the Beatles (John Lennon and Paul McCartney and their own solo music in particular), Dead Can Dance (Lisa Gerrard's newer solo and collaboration albums also) Yes, Rush (2112 in particular), Igor Stravinsky (Firebird), Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1812 Suite), etc, etc.

Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, the Star Wars novels, other works of fiction (not Twilight, though). I have read Ayn Rand (know thy enemy), some of Noam Chomsky (liking him so far), Chris Hedges, Albert Camus, Friedrich Nietzsche, Orwell ("1984" got me interested in politics in the first place, I think), Howard Zinn's "A People's History", Douglas Adams's Hitchhiker's Guide series (non-sequitur from politics, but whatever). I have read some of Marx (obviously), have not read Lenin yet (sad, I know).

This forum is myriad in its leftist ideologies and that is precisely what makes it, if I may state, awesome. Also due to being I think, the only forum of its kind to grace the Internets. I am mostly a lurker, an observer, usually not posting at all until something catches my interest.

Welcome, and thanks for all the personal information.

You nailed Obama. He's a creature (CEO, actually) of The System.

I'm white and understand and hate racism with a purple passion. Here I have been awaiting a black or female president, and I get Obama. And his female alternative was Hillary.

The System rules. We'd better overrule it, and soon. Welcome!

Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone.

Ha! Nice one on the "System rules (over us)" bit, Natural.
