CaptainDDC here!

A little about myself:

Since I was a younger kid, I always called myself a leftist. I was a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party (Fail) because that is where my grandparents stood. I always defended their views.

Recently, I got into the more Revolutionary Left when one of my teachers asked me, out of the blue, if I was a communist. I have been researching ever since.

It turns out he was ignorant. I was at the time, a great example of your typical Green Party member here in the US. I suppose a Conservative Republican teacher would see that as communism, given the state of American politics and education. :(

I lurked another forum before this one. It had several Marxists on it (Some post here) and from what they said regarding modern day topics, I agreed with. The way they laid out the theories of Marxism was appealing, leaving me wanting more knowledge. I found myself studying Marx and agreeing with him more and more.

However, I have been hesitant in posting this introduction on Revleft. There is so much bickering on here I am not too sure I will benefit. Oh well, time will tell.

Thank you for your time.

Welcome! Ignore the bickering, we're all comrades, and we won't agree 100% of the time!

Any questions post em in Learning. If you wish to read some works by famous Marxists and Marx himself, check out marxists.org

Captain DDC,

Welcome! There is so much bickering at revleft because the left has no idea how to proceed in dismantling capitalism and moving into a human future. But revleft is not the ever-awful US Green Party.

I'm an amateur naturalist and was one of those who changed party registrations in CA in 1991 to get the Greens on the ballot. I looked at those lovely "Ten Key Values" and thought, "How can we lose?"

Losing was easy. All the Greens had to do was throw away those ten values and run a guy who didn't even belong to the party for president.

The ten key values form a system that is obviously anti-capitalist, yet I have never run into a Greenie who would even discuss capitalism.

Captain DDC, we are truly in the belly of the beast and are rapidly being digested. I find that Americans, despite a lot of hullaballoo, have the political awareness of a potato. This must change, and revleft might be the very best place to begin to effect revolutionary change.

Welcome!

Welcome indeed.

Don't worry about the bickering as Hail says. Unless you post something like 'how come Mao was totally awesome?' or 'why was Stalin such a bastard?' you should be OK.

Hope your time here is fruitful and helps you better understand politics and society!
