Hello Comrades!
Many people wouldn't think so but I'm a lifelong Leftie.
About myself:
My father was much abused by the Capitalist system. This led me to a life of learning and work and a distrust of our American system of "Free Enterprise" in general.
Oddly, I set about fixing things for a living, particularly cars.
In my 20's I helped organize a Union in our shop. Why? My co-workers asked me to. I ended up taking all of the blame (and hence credit) for it. After many years, I realize the correctness of my decision, though it was based in empathy at the time.
I'm about as anti-religious as a person can get. That poison should be highly regulated as with any other dangerously addictive drug. It should also be very highly taxed.
I'm a newcomer to Marx and agree with what I've read so far. I am in awe of the perception and foresight of Stalin.
Other studies of mine include History and learning a little Russian.
I have been most fortunate to have had good relations with and long discussions with a wide variety of people.... from WW1 and WW2 survivors to "Palestinians" evicted in 1967... I even got to talk for a few minutes with a currently famous and much maligned "Activist" a few years ago.
I learned a long time ago that history books and teachers are not to be trusted. Far better to talk with people who were there and Fate has been kind to me in that regard.
All the Best,,
Всего Хорошего,
just another Pioneer.
PS. "Pioneer's Violin" or "Скрипка Пионера" as it is properly called is a heart-stoppingly awesome animated Soviet film about the fate of a young Pioneer. I cry every time I watch it. There are no tedious words to translate or interpret.
