Their are not Nazis. It's mostly satire.

Well, they always denied it in the 1980s, but, some of us had our doubts. They always claimed that they mixed up Nazi and 'Communist' imagery to comment on totalitarianism (which was probably quite a bold move in Yugoslavia at the time) but given what happened in the 1990s...
In short, I don't know.

I cannot be entirely sure, but I don't think so. Their aesthetics was mainly one of outright provocation for its shock value.
Bandito

They are not Nazis, they are shock artists.
Laibach is how Slovenian capital Ljubljana was called during Nazi occupation, so that is how they got their "nazi" reputation. They also played in Croatia with Chetnik uniforms and played in Serbia in Ustashe uniforms. Shock value, nothing more than that.
They suck musically though.

It was the photos of them in German Wehrmacht style uniforms which got me wondering

Yeah, they also got their 'Nazi' reputation for dressing in Hitler Youth style uniforms, having very short blond hair and marching up mountains like some crappy Reichsvolk parody.
Great musically though (in total contra-distinction to Bandito).
Google images for 'Laibach'. That should give enough clues. Or, alternatively, if you dare, pop over to Stormfront and ask them, I'm sure they'll tell you.

The jury on SF on Laibach is still out....most seem to agree that its not a pro-white but actually anti-racist group who use the shock value of their sounds and imagery to give a subtile and suliminal political message.
I personally have no idea about Laibach. The sound is interesting. But I have no real inclination to listen to it.

laibach are not nazi's, i met them and i can guarantee you they are progressive avantgarde artists who wanted to make an statement about totalitarianism.
accusing them of being nazis makes as much sense as accusing later industrial rock bands like einsturzende nuebauten, kmfdm, ramstein and marlyn manson of that (who actually all, completly unfounded, been accused of exactly that)
"death in june" on the other hand.....

I have met them as well. They are performance artists.
And I did like their Beatles covers and a few originals.

Add Nitzer Ebb to that list as well.

In the song Tanz Mit they make mention of Ado Hinkel and Benzino Napolini, both satirical figures in the movie The Great Dictator. Another person referenced in the song is Schicklgruber, the alleged real family name of Hitler, used in Allied war propaganda and I think it also was asserted or implied or whatever that Hitler came from Jewish ancestry and this name was used as proof. It also mentions dancing to them and all this other shiz, I think it's just satire, aesthetics and shock shit.

According to a friend who likes their music, they said 'we are nazis in the way Hitler was an artist.'
They're sort of like a schlocky comedy act, and the quality of their music reflects this

They are politico-cultural trolls. Slovenia seems to be good at producing them.

In short, no.
In one of their interviews they stated they have no other political views than the utopia of true communism.
