Hello friends,
After several years spent on another forum, I've decided to look for something 'left', theres no use in talking to people with right wing politics or just oblivious and helpless, although I never like to think in a defeatist way, hence i've coming looking, and I've found Revleft.
Im in the UK capital, Currently very active and busy one could say, I've been involved with Anti Fascist activity, which im focussing on at the moment and would like to contribute to this forum to. That involves travelling to all parts of the country, building community ties and rallying people together, although there has been a new development within in the far-right and fascism which only some have realised.
Permanently immersed in the anti-cuts at the moment, you all know whats going on.
Im looking to get more into anti-imperalism theory but im sure that will come when I reach university, currently just about to leave Further Education. I've lead walksouts of up over several hundreds back in november over uni tuition fee's trippling and EMA cuts, millbank, whitehall ;)
I like to discuss theory, a lot, into the late hours of the early morning in depth, is something which I find special and rare, but its been happening more often and somewhat acts as a multiplier effect, which is why I've been pushed to look for new realms I guess.
Plus the normal stuff, meetings weekly, sometimes every day during time off, stalls, debates, demo's ect...
What branch of Leftism do I think?
Well im not really sure yet, Im in a left organisation, dubbed the biggest in the UK, so that might give a few a clue, but I don't want to mention because I don't want to come across as sectarian.
You could definately say marxist to the bone, but my organisation is Marxist-Leninist mainly, but what ive seen is that actual means something else to what people initially think.
Theres a real big problem with unity and the left in the UK, A lot of it is to do with tiny ideosincrecies, when really the left should be working together, theres a lot of smearing and stuff like that, mainly from people on the 'left', who can go back to their nice big houses and only get involved in the 'struggle' when they feel like it, compared to some of us, since getting political have always been in struggle, live, eat and sleep it.
How did I become leftist?
Well, i've always thought it was down to my parents, largely let me do what I want, think what I want, good primary school head master who was clearly anti-war, with songs about harmony.
I really got more political around the ages of 12 and up, when the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan came about, and the genocide in Sri Lanka by the government, which is when I become radical, but the reasons I became radical are still being discovered, It's largely because I dont want to live an insignificant life, I want to make a difference, and do difference, selfless actions, which make me happy when im helping to defend others and working for a better world.
Im working class, life has been hard, so I can feel what others are going through. theres no period of time when I can sit back and become unpolitical, every second, every step, every thought in my mind, is always political.
So overall, Quite active in the left, i'd like to develop theoretically, as that is my weakest side, very active, very radical verging on the point of ...,
I don't know what im lookin for on Revleft, I hope I find something special, Im aware that this forum is probably very diverse and people have a wide view on things, so if any fellow marxists could drop me a PM anytime give me some advice on furthering my understanding ect.
Naturally im wary of stalinist politics, mao, and self proclaimed socialist governments that are bourgeois in nature.
And any sectarian trolls shouldn't bother, because I only care about practicality and reality, coming from an armchair, does not phase me at all.
