I am a bit surprised to really see no discussion of the Grundrisse in the English language forums. I'm re-reading this amazing text and still of course am encountering my own difficulties. Would be great to perhaps start a group, but have been unsuccessful in doing so. If anybody else is interested, let me know.

Great idea to try and find people to discuss the grundrisse. Im trying to find people in my local area, around the univerity to read it with, but i would totally beup for discussing it online.

I'm willing to discuss it with you, although, I would need to know the details about the discussion first.

Grundrisse has been on my todo list for quite some time now. However, I'm already committed to many other readings and two other studygroups, so I'm afraid I can't participate myself. That said, it ought to be on everyone's reading list and would collective raise our level of understanding.

I've been planning to order myself a copy online. I'll be willing to participate if you don't mind waiting a couple of weeks (I am definitely not reading a thousand pages worth of Marx's rough notes on a computer screen). Or you could start without me and I could probably catch up quite easily.

I think this is a good idea.Currently I'm actually reading my way through Das Kapital and don't have a copy of Grundrisse, but I am planning to order one relatively soon.As with Zanthorus I could catch up pretty quickly.

It is great to hear that so many are up for reading it and forming an online group. Here's how I think we can do this (please answer each question)

1. Which copy or edition is everyone buying? I have the Penguin classics/Nicolaus translation.
2. How about we start July 1st? Would that be enough time?
3. How do you create a group? Could someone get on that? Would appreciate it.

I think the translations will be more or less the same so it shouldn't matter too much.
July 1st sounds great for me.
You create a group by going on the groups page and clicking 'create group'.

1. I'm not sure yet, I'd planned to look around and read a few reviews before commiting myself to buying any specific edition.
2. That would be fine for me.
EDIT: I see you've already worked out problem three :)

Great, just did it. Search for "Grundrisse" in the groups.

It seems that I'll have enough free time to discuss this with you, Kadir, although, I'm not sure. Nonetheless, I'd like to join your group.

The Grundrisse is actually a good book to just read certain sections. I have the 1939 Pelican edition. Which is, I think, the same one as the mentioned.

Think you can download a pdf version from the Marxist Internet Archive.

Indeed you can: http://marxists.org/archive/marx/works/download/Marx_Grundrisse.pdf

I've asked in the Grundrisse group for help on what pages we're supposed to read, so it shouldn't be a problem, as soon as somebody answers.

I'm probably a bit late... but I'd be willing to join the study group as soon as I get my hands on Grundrisse.

We still have about four days before beggining discussion, and as pointed out previously you can read the Grundrisse online until you get a physical copy.

I'll most likely have the physical copy by July 7th (at the latest, depends if Canada Post can send it on time.. :/). But yes, I'll use the pdf version on MIA.
