It looks like California will fall to the republicans in 2004. GO ARNOLD, YOU AUSTRIAN MUSCLEMAN! GO ARNOLD, YOU WOMANIZING GOD! GRAB SOME TITTIES FOR ME! :P :P :P :P :P

Before you start raving about how groping women isn't a bad thing, just imagine if some butch woman you had no interest in and were repulsed by came and started to fondle you.

most news channels are already saying he won
he is way ahead
i have lost all hope
What surprises me most is that Californians are too blind to even see the fact that these "special interests" that Arnold is so fondly agaisnt catering to, actualy covers the interests of everyone aside from the bourgeoisie.
...damn republicans
...poor Californians :(

Most of us understand that the same people who ran California yesterday will still be running it today. Bourgeois elections are not about substantive changes.
It is kind of amusing that the voters of California have elected a new governor who is still struggling with the concept of walking erect. His term of office will probably be brief but hilarious.
The Green Party guy finished 4th, by the way, with about 2% of the vote.
Cretins like Henrybird rejoice in such events because they think that politics is like sports. Otherwise, they are as clueless as their heroes.
Safe prediction: things will get worse in California...and America.

What's really amusing, is that it was all these right wingers that cried and pissed and moaned whenever an actor would speak out against the war with Iraq, saying that actors shouldn't be using their bully pulpit.
Funny how all that rhetoric goes away as soon as it's a right wing actor eh? It's laughable that California would be stupid enough to give the leadership of their state over to an actor not once...but twice!
Voting for Reagan for anything other than selling balloons on a street corner was bad enough. Putting a Neanderthal, sexist "B" actor at the helm is just plain rediculous. California deserves whatever they get with this guy.
I hope he ruins the economy, cuts deals with the big corporations, and cuts all programs for the poor and immigrants. It'll just make it that much easier for us! :D
He's the best friend a Revolution could have!

Actually, the party of the governor, espically when he is a famous ator, has no really weight in deciding who will win the state. Case in point, Minnasota's governor was a libertarian, however, I belive Gore won it in 2000.

Well what do you expect most Americans are dumb, I don't want to attack any American on this board but that is how you come over. But America is not the only country that somebody that has knowledge what-so-ever about politics can become a big shot in politics. In Belgium a nurse is the minister of traffic control, so yeah :P . But back on the topic, I have watched fragments of the campaign of Arnold and "his fans" and had to laugh alot, it is hard to believe that those people are even serious. But anyway another hilarious fact in the American history of politics

I dont really like that many of Arnys movies, or his partys politics, but people are being a bit harsh to him and calling him dumb, even though he has an IQ probably like 20-30 points above them. He has something like 135, and as the average american is between 90 and 100...
As I am not an american, I dont know what his politcs are, but some people I was talking to were saying they were actually quite liberal, could someone conferm or deny this for me?

He's married to a democrat. He describes himself as fiscally conservative but socially moderate. IE He says he's mixture between the two.
He is pro-choice, against off-shore drilling and has some other liberal ideals.
But then again his father was a Nazi, he said he liked hitler's speech (in general, the way he talked), and he supported Waldheim.

His farther was a Nazi? Well that doesnt supprise me, many ordinary folk in Germany joined the Nazi party, as they believed that it was doing the right thing, massive Nazi propaganda efforts, fear of the SS, Respect for Hitler and because many others were.
It was not an uncommon thing, rather like thousands of people are in the conservative and labour partys in Britain etc.

What can I say. Way to go republicans, can't get an official in legitamitly because everyone knows you're all full of shit, so you front-run an actor so you can win based on name recognition. Gotta hand it to ya, also a round of applause please for all the dumb wankers in California that elected him in, way to be a product of television. The fact the Arnie is now govenor or California has received alot of critisism in Cyprus and England. People in those two countries have been saying that it is rediculous to elect an actor with no political related qualifications to be govenor. Also they say what must the inteligence of the Californians be if this is the man the voted in.
P.S. I have not put any of my personal opinions in here so no slateing me pro Arnie people.

135? Is that what his public relations hacks are claiming these days?
By the way, Americans are really no dumber on average than people in other countries. But allowances must be made for their profound ignorance. People here really do know less about the real world than I expect is the case in any other advanced capitalist country (and some that are not so advanced). Not only do we have one of the worst systems of public education--almost guaranteed to crush the natural intellectual curiosity of the young--but we are more indoctrinated by the bourgeois media than people anywhere else.

I think we can thank FOX news for "anouncing" Ariana's resignation before she actualy resigned and calling her campaign a "crackpot" campaign. And this wasn't the Factor or Hanitty and Colmes or any of their "fair and balanced" opinion shows, it was the "news"!

I wounder if he can compose a speech without the word "terminator" in it. I find it sad that a right-winged actor is what it takes for some people to actually care about an election and go vote.

Yes, Arnolds dad was in the Nazi party. So were most Germans apart of the Nazis in some way during WW2. Still, Many Germans think that Hilter (as bad of a guy that he was) did some good to the german economy when he first came to power. This was before his manic rascism....and Fascist ideology took form.
But as for Arnold, I liked his movies...but his attitude STINKS! He his a self rightous fool, who thinks America is the centre of the world. He is an Austrian, not an American! He is ignoring the very culture in which he came from....American assimilates as usual! I also disagree with how politics in America have become the lure for movie stars and media celebraties. America is showing the world that it is a truely reckless nation which has little regard for its own people, and others around the world.
Politics are a serious matter!

Well, I can see your point, and I'm not holding it against him. It's just that, his stance on immigrants, his mistreatment of women, his stance on Waldheim (the former Nazi war crimes criminial), and his stance on apartheid that derives my disappointment with him.
If Bill Clinton did half the things Arnold did to women, he would have been CRUCIFIED. But since it's Arnold, the big bad cool movie star, it's ok. Good job California (I'm from California so don't take it personal).
Oh yeah, don't let me forget, he wants indians to "pay their fair share." Because we all know they haven't yet, and they live on reservations because they want to. <_<
