Well, hello.
I live in the United States.
I somewhat recently started studying communism after someone accused someone I admire of being a communist and was amazed at how different it
was from what so many people make it out to be.
I would probably define myself as a Marxist-Leninist more then anything else
Although sometimes I'm a bit surprised by the number of bans and suspensions on revleft, overall I find this site to be very interesting and informative.

Welcome to the site! I myself am not a Leninist but I am not sectarian so I am always happy to work with Leninists. There are a lot of M-Ls here though, so you will fit right in.
Make usage of the Learning forum if you're just starting out with your studies if you want to - this isn't a requirement, just a suggestion.
Most bans and suspensions are simply because we seem to attract a lot of trolls. There has been a number of users pestering us for a while. Also, the rules here are pretty obvious - no flaming, trolling, etc but also make sure not to post one-liners or one/two word posts.
If anybody harasses you during your time here please let one of the staff know and we'll get it sorted out.

Yazman,
I understand restriction, but not banning. How does banning work, and what relations, if any, remain on this site for the banned? And how do the banned/damned find salvation and return to action?
Thanks for this site and all the work you and the other moderators do.
Is the only way to make contributions through paypal?

Banning is an absolute last resort for most users - generally it will only happen after 3-5 infractions and a suspension. Although it can be a lot quicker (i.e straight away) if somebody is openly racist, supportive of fascism, or a really bad troll.
If you have been banned and you think you don't deserve a ban, usually you're left to private communication channels to try and plea your case. This does give me an idea on something though, so maybe it might end up being different. We'll see.
Yes, the only way to contribute is via paypal. You're not required to contribute at all but if you do so, it would be much appreciated.

Welcome! :)
Don't worry about the bans. Don't worry about restriction either. Its not the end and OI is a wonderfully vibrant sub-forum. :)
Either way...you might enjoy these links. Have a lot of fun here.
