"Before the revolution, demonstrating in front of the Ministry of Interior would have been suicide," one of 400 young protestors told the CWI while demonstrating in front of the Ministry building, on 6 June, in memory of Khalid Saied, who was beaten to death by police on 6 June 2010 in Alexandria. The Facebook site set up in protest at the killing, ‘We are all Khalid Saied’, attracted thousands of members and played a part in mobilizing the January 25th 2011 demonstrations that led to the downfall of the former dictator, Mubarak.
