PFLP salutes the martyrs slain as they marched for return on June 5

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said on June 5, 2011, that the anniversary of the Naksa this year presented a beacon of freedom, restoration of dignity, and the promise of our people's rights, and saluted the Palestinian and Arab martyrs who fell marching on the anniversary of the aggression in June 1967. The Front promised the Palestinian and Arab people that the memory of these martyrs will be honored, and that their cause will be victorious over the Zionist occupation, oppression and injustice, swearing that the blood of these martyrs will not be wasted, and that the Palestinian people will remain, throughout Palestine, in the refugee camps and in exile, on the path of steadfast struggle and intifada until the defeat of the occupation, the liberation of Jerusalem, the achievement of self-determination, the implementation of return, and the victory of our people, our nation and humanity as a whole.

The PFLP said that the occupation forces shed Palestinian and Arab blood mercilessly, firing live ammunition on unarmed demonstrators, killing dozens and wounding hundreds on the borders of the occupied Arab Syrian Golan. It demanded Arab leaders to challenge the occupation, abandon silence and submission and defend the dignity and interests of their people and the rights of the Palestinian people, and end all relations with the occupation state.

The PFLP sent its sincerest greetings to the Palestinian youth movement and the Arab youth movement, saying that they carried forward torches of confrontation and determination toward Majd al-Shams, Qalandia and Gaza, demonstrating that our cause is not subject to bargaining and that the right of return is inalienable. This action by Palestinian youth from Palestinian refugee camps in Syria, marching to the borders of occupied Arab land, is a confirmation of the enormous revolutionary potential of this movement, said the Front. "Each drop of blood shed in the Golan will blossom as a fig tree, and each drop of blood in Qalandia will be fuel for the struggle for return and liberation," said the Front.

The Front affirmed its firm commitment to the path of return and liberation, and pledged to always be directed towards Palestine, It stated that participating together with Palestinians from all factions, Palestinian youth and Syrian youth at the borders of the homeland, naturally united our goals and raised our fists high and chanted together for return, victory and liberation.

The PFLP mourns the 24 martyrs slain by the occupation as they marched on the Naksa anniversary on June 5. Six of our comrades fell on this march:

1. Comrade Martyr Inas Shreita of Yarmouk, a member of the Palestinian Youth Organization, the student framework of the PFLP in Syria
2. Comrade Martyr Majdi Zeidan of Aleppo
3. Comrade Martyr Izzat Miswadah of Damascus
4. Comrade Martyr Mahmoud Ahmad Saeed of Khan as-Sheeh
5. Comrade Martyr Ala Hassan of Khan as-Sheeh
6. Comrade Martyr Fadi Nahar of Khan as-Sheeh

Today, said the Front, the PFLP bids farewell to a new constellation of martyrs and pledges to our people and our nation to continue the road to Palestine through resistance and intifada, the road to freedom, independence and return.

PFLP mourns martyrs and emphasizes that it rejects any internal Palestinian fighting

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine confirmed on June 7, 2011 that it refuses to participate in internal Palestinian fighting and that it is determined to remain firmly on the path of revolution and struggle. It sent its warmest condolences to our people in the camps whose sons and daughters were made martyrs at the hands of the occupation as they marched for return and liberation, saying that they are examples of the Palestinian commitment - generation after generation - to liberate Palestine and return to their homes from which they were driven by occupation, oppression and aggression.

The Front wished a speedy recovery to the wounded heroes who faced the Zionist occupation forces, demanding their right to return, as part of the popular Palestinian movement in Palestine, in exile and diaspora that arose on the 63rd anniversary of al-Nakba and continued on the 44th anniversary of the Naksa on June 5, 2011.

The Front confirmed the following:

1. The Front expressed its shock at the events which took place in Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria during the funeral of the martyrs on June 6, 2011, and called upon our steadfast people to exercise caution and wisdom, adherence to Palestinian national values, and remain directed toward resistance to the Zionist occupation which occupies our land and murders our youth;

2. The Front is also shocked to see its name linked to these events that took place in some media, as this is incorrect reporting and the PFLP did not have a role in these painful events;

3. The PFLP affirms its commitment to Palestinian national unity and calls upon all of our masses to strengthen national unity and restore our national project;

4. The PFLP reaffirms its commitment to our Palestinian people to adhere to national principles and to always struggle to achieve our goals of return, self-determination and national liberation.

The PFLP said that the primary cause of these events is the massacre committed by the Zionist settler-colonial army. It emphasized also that those responsible for firing upon Palestinians must be held accountable, as such actions are utterly unacceptable; Palestinian blood is a red line. The PFLP reiterated its call for accuracy, emphasizing that the Front was not involved in these events, and that the PFLP is firmly committed to values and ethics that protect the people and always turn our weapons only toward the enemy.
