Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong forum

Do you believe it is important to align yourself to a political party/group in order to be effective in promoting leftism?
I ask because I have struggled to find a group in the UK to fully align myself to, and appear to have hit a dead end with my article writing, due to a falling out with the Morning Star.

Being alone is not fun in the long run, and organization is of utmost importance to the working class. You can do a lot more if you are many, even if you dont agree on everything. One person cannot lift much weight, a few people can lift some weight and lots of people can lift tons.

Its not essential but it is important. What kind of party are you looking for? There's more than enough that there should be one to suit most people.

I am not a fan of the CPGB as I am against M-Lism, or the NCP due to them supporting Labour, and the AF seem to have ignored my membership request, despite having a branch in my city. I aren't looking for a particular group, just one that will let me write for them, even if we have political differences (I have Trotskyist tendencies).

The CPGB (http://cpgb.org.uk/) isn't ML.

Actually, the CPGB, through the Weekly Worker, does offer a platform for dissent and opposing views as to allow actual debate and thus political development to happen.

(I have Trotskyist tendencies).

There are several Trotskyist organisations in the UK (http://eng.anarchopedia.org/List_of_Left-Wing_Parties_in_the_United_Kingdom). I'm in the Dutch sisterorganisation of the Socialist Party in England & Wales for example.

The SWP and SP of England and wales would be Trotskyists organisations in the UK that I would know about.

To Q:
Apologies, I meant the CPB. I was in touch with the CPGB briefly and I asked to write for them and they never replied. Is it just a case of sending them an article and waiting it out?
I shall check out the SWP then, thank you.

In my biased opinion I do happen to think SPEW is a little better. Dissenters in the SWP are not tolerated whatsoever and will get expelled. Expulsions rarely happen in the SPEW as far as I'm aware.

No.

But, if there are people nearby who share a lot of your views and aren't dicks, it's not a bad thing to get in touch with them.

If you not got a reply to one or two e-mails, if you can, seek them out in person locally. Sometimes correspondence gets lost for no good reason.

Absolutely not. It is totally possible to attend meeting and sympathize with parties without enrolling in them.
