about a year ago my cousin started threatening my mother and my family because my mom stopped giving him money which he kept spending on drugs. however he gave a family friend his cell phone because he owed him money. unfortunately he didn't delete the emails on his phone of the correspondence he had on the craigslist m4m. so he stopped after i politely informed him what we knew and what could possibly happen if he chose to continue. threatening to out somebody is pretty reactionary imo but at least it wasn't calling the cops.
can anyone top this??

When I was year 8 (I think?) my school had a mock election and I voted for the Labour party. This was in the early-2000's when the Iraq war was underway. The only thing I understood about war at the time was that explosions were cool so...

When I was much littler I used to call this one kid "gay" all the time.He came out of the closet in high school. I still wasn't very supportive and sort of bullied him. Looking bad, that's more than enough to make me feel awful.
But then I just found out the other day that he tested HIV positive too.

I handed out Sarah Palin leaflets door-to-door when she first ran for governor.
But my friends and I were being paid 35 dollars for doing that. I think we used that money to buy weed or something. I was 17.
Not long ago, being the single man that I am, I had a fantasy about a woman. I felt guilty about not getting her permission first, though; it honestly felt a little bit rape-y to imagine having sex with a woman without having her permission to put her there in my mind.
To redeem myself, I apologized and asked permission. I don't know which is sadder - the fact that I actually did that, or that she granted permission.

I'm just really, really, really obsessive about consent, and about minimizing my participation in patriarchal hierarchy.
EDIT: And, to be honest, I'm very deeply ashamed of my sexuality. When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to become a monk.

I was homophobic until sometime in middle school along with every single other kid in my goddamn school. I also didn't really have much understanding of the concept of sexuality, I just heard everyone say that being gay is bad and kinda rolled with it. I used to be a Christian. I used follow the usual patriarchal society's idea of how women should be treated. Well, the "be a gentleman" thing. My parent's divorced when I was six and I went to my dad's house like one day a week so my mom made me have respect for women and their rights. I was never particularly drawn to racism, which surprises me considering that I grew up in the south, in fact, after I moved to a slightly less southern southern town, when I was in middle school the only middle school in the town I used to live in had a race riot. I also used to want to join some branch of the military, and the nationalism that accompanies that.
I take part of that back, ever since I became capable of semi-logical thought I kind of stopped being a Christian, but only recently stopped identifying myself as one for some reason. Ha, I remember one time around the age of like 7 I asked my mom where the dinosaurs were if God made man after 7 days and dinosaurs were around millions of years before humans. because I was really into dinosaurs, and I wanted to be a paleontologist. She gave me some bullshit answer about a day being millions of years to god or some shit like that, which I thought was questionable at the time.

A. sorry but thats seriously creepy and fucked up, how sexually repressive was your education exactly? and B. if she still said yes after you did this unimaginably creepy/freaky thing (the asking, not the fantasizing) why the hell didnt you ask her out on a date? good chance she was enough into you you could have made your fantasy real.

She was attacking him. Also, based on his post, he hit her one time, to get her to stop. He didn't beat the shit out of her. I think most people would have had a similar reaction, only those with less control would have beaten her, those with more control might have tried to hold her back without hitting her. It all depends on how emotional the argument was (in this case I think it's safe to assume that emotions were running high on both sides), and who provoked the attack, which, based on the information we have been given was her. Thus his actions were self-defense, and not an act of domestic abuse. Not saying that I would advise we all hit our partners to settle disputes but if they start hitting you hitting them one time to make 'em stop has way fewer consequences than many of the other ways it could have played out.

Exactly, it wasn't right, never right to hit anyone to solve an argument, regardless of gender or relation to the person but it happened and is in the past.
Just self defense, I told her to chill the fuck out numerous times, tried distancing myself from the situation, she got belligerent so I did what had to be done.

My sister and I used to get in serious fist fights all the time, hell one time she literally broke a chair over my back. Is it alright to hit a girl if she's your sister? And I know it's not alright but is it less worse when it's sibling rivalry? Because if not I've done some reactionary shit and think I won this competition.

The fact that she's a girl shouldn't matter. The fact that it's your sister makes your fighting somewhat unsurprising.
I take that back, the gender does sometimes matter, like if it was your girlfriend and she disagreed with you so you hit her, that wouldn't be cool. If you got into a fight with a girl? Then it's acceptable to fight back. I also think we should change the subject from male/female violence, before this shit get's serious. This is chit-chat after all.
