The Patriotic Millionaires are back. They're demanding that President Obama and Congress raise taxes on incomes over a million dollars because there are things we want to do as a country--and they are not free.

Yup, obviously there are very very few of them compared to millionaires that are "buisiness minded," but hey, its really nice to see, and thankfully they have the money to speak out, whereas the masses of poor people that feel the same way have no voice.

different type of capitalists with different understanding of the system.

some people do understand that if nothing is done about fair taxation, the next step will probably torch and pitchforks.

it wouldnt really fix capitalism per se, just add some more morphine to keep shit going for a while.

I couldn't care less for these "patriotic millionaires", nor the nationalism and class-collaboration they advocate. Throwing money at a government which serves simply to protect the mutual interests of the bourgeoisie isn't going to do shit for the oppressed labouring masses of the US. This "movement" also appears to give the impression that there can only ever be real social progress if it's carried out by capitalists (a la the great man theory). Fuck that. Come the revolution, these guys will be the first to go.

Thats not what it is, its not nationalism, its people that understand that society cannot be run the way its going.

As for your last sentance, it just shows how intelligent you are, as if revolutoin is just about "taking people out."

To tell the truth there is a reason for this. During the Regan years we had a huge slip towards supply side economics. And what this did was lower real wages for the vast majority of Americans. It also outsourced jobs massively, and cut down on welfare. Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II continued this trend of letting the market do as it desired. Unfortunately, this could only work for so long. The problem is that when even when your production costs go down if if you lower wages, no one can buy anything. To make up for this, the credit industry started lending to people. And people under the misguidance of the American dream decided to buy things. This is good and all for a while until the banks start repossessing your home and selling toxic assets back to the government. When this starts happening you have a good number of unowned homes and people with a lot of debt. No one can buy these unowned homes so they start bringing down the prices and later no one wants to buy a home which hasn't been repossessed. But they have to sell these homes dirt cheap because no one has any money. And thus we get screwed, and screwed so throughly that we can't get ourselves out of it. So we need taxes to fund public works projects and bring up interest rates such that less people will get credit because artificial growth--is as it's name states artificial. When the illusion disappears the class conflict resumes. No matter what the rich do at this point, its inevitable the class war will heat up soon. Its up to us to make sure that we ride the metaphorical wave properly. Who knows maybe the US won't be the last capitalist country.

If coming to the defence of the nation, and incorporating nationalist imagery in to your campaign isn't nationalism, then I don't know what is. Any way, the capitalists aren't going to make any fundamental changes to the way society is going, are they? They're going to protect their class interests, as usual.

It's called "humour", or at least a bad stab at it.
