I'm Dylan, and I am deeply interested in Marxist/Marxian theory. I consider myself something of a libertarian Marxist or left-communist, but my sympathies lie in a number of ideologies (anarcho-syndicalism, for example). I also have a strong sympathy for existentialist theory, especially Sartre and Camus (in his case, absurdist theory). I'm fairly active politically, especially involving feminist/pro-choice and queer advocacy. I am, in fact, queer (prefer not to label myself "gay", "bisexual", etc.). I love underground music (especially punk, but I dig avant-garde music, independent music, folk, and much more) and films of all types. I'm a vegetarian (aspiring vegan), and advocate animal rights.
Pleased to meet you all, and I'm glad I'm here! :)

Hey, Dylan,
Welcome to revleft and thanks for an informative intro. Like yourself, I'm queer and dislike the term "gay." "Gay boys" just want to be accepted into The System.
I hate The System. Incidentally, the terms "libertarian Marxist" and "left-communist" should be redundant, but aren't, as Marxism has undergone a long, hard, disorientating march through history.
I recommend Joel Kovel's Enemy of Nature (2002) as the most comprehensive, readable modern Marxist work. Kovel is at the head of American ecosocialism now, and Enemy conclusively diagnoses capitalism as an unredeemable disaster and confronts The System with an ecological revolutionary response.
See ya around revleft. Mr. Natural/Unnatural sends you his red-green best.
I'm sorry to hear that your fellow left! :(

@Mr. Natural: I will be absolutely sure to check out that book. I find ecosocialism very intriguing but I haven't done that much research into it as of yet.
And thanks, ye'all!
