I've spent some time reading some of Sartre's later, more outwardly leftist works (Critique of Dialectical Reason) and I am intrigued and inspired by his justification of the class dialectic, as well as collectivist Marxian theory, through the ideas of free will and existentialist humanism. Although Marx was obviously closer to Hegel in his ideas, I most definitely sympathize with this idea of a synthesized Marxist-existentialist theory. Does anyone have any thoughts on existentialism from a leftist or Marxist perspective? Has anyone read Sartre's Critique?
