^If you don't like this video, fuck you.
"Dragon Ball Z is the best anime series ever made"
Cowboy Bebop you fucking philistine.
Lupin III is where it's at. Although it is a tad sexist. But at least it doesn't have a bunch of toddler looking "teenagers" like certain animes. *cough* Lucky Star *cough*
It's tough to say what is the best but we can all agree that Dragon Ball fucking Z is nowhere close to the top of the list.
EDIT:Lupin the 3rd is excellent too.
How do you guys feel about Gundam? The only one I was ever really into was Gundam Wing and that one seems to get tons of hate heaped on it.
I really liked Gundam Wing actually, Deathscythe was pretty badass. I like the Gundam series past this though, Mobile Fighter G was pretty cool.

Bobobo-bobo-bobo is also pretty awesome.

Gundam Wing is heresy - only UC Gundam here. MSG (the movies are better, honestly, even though the side characters on White Base get short shrift), Zeta Gundam, 08th MS Squadron, 0080, 0083. Great stuff there. It's a terrific, sensitive critique of war.
Lupin III is phenomenal. And let me tell you, getting into Lupin in the late 90s/ early 00s was frickin difficult. I started with a bootleg copy of the Streamline release of Castle of Cagliostro, hunted down the releases of Legend of the Gold of Babylon and the Fuma Conspiracy, and told the video store I had lost the tape of the two series II episodes that Miyazaki had directed (another Streamline dub). I had to hunt down fansubbed copies of random episodes from Series I and Series II, the movies and TV specials. It's a lot easier now, although there's still a lot of random crap that you need to hunt down. I used to bug one of my Japanese professors by just writing a summary of a Lupin III episode whenever he had us do a writing assignment.
Cowboy Bebop of course is wonderful. I think I bought it about 3 times, between the subbed and dubbed VHS (anybody who doesn't remember how intense the disputes were when you had to buy a tape that only had one or the other is, is a johnny come lately to anime).
We used to do sessions that were just marathons of different shows - a whole series or a half at a time. A couple long weekends watching Escaflowne, Lain, Boogiepop Phantom, misspent weeks analyzing Evangelion. College was a hell of a lot of fun.

Arakawa Under the Bridge, Hourou Musuko and Mushishi are my favorites at the moment.

I used to be a weeaboo in middle school, so to avoid going back that I only allow myself to watch Lupin III, Ghost in the Shell, Gundam, Bobobo, Cowboy Bebop, and the occasional movie that doesn't have a series attached to it. And I seldom watch any of the above.

Come now, Hourou Musuko isn't exactly something most middle schoolers would watch and brag about.

Also prefer UC Gundam. I liked Wing(especially Endless Waltz), but compared to the stuff like 08th MS Team it is hardly worth watching. I really liked Turn A Gundam as well.
Big Cowboy Bebop fan. Not looking forward to the live action movie. Heard Keanu Reeves is supposed to play Spike. :cursing:
DBZ was enjoyable for me when I was younger, but I couldn't stand watching it after the Freeza saga. Just went downhill..
It is tough watching anime when people automatically assume I'm some weird wapanese guy. I enjoy film in general whether animated or not. :/
