Just signed by the governor of that reactionary state.

It's the right thing for taxpayers," Scott said after signing the measure. "It's the right thing for citizens of this state that need public assistance. We don't want to waste tax dollars. And also, we want to give people an incentive to not use drugs."

But we have no problem wasting taxpayer money on the expensive drug screenings? And invading their privacy, trying to shame those who need help, etc...
Oh by the way, he owns the company that will do the testing.

Fucking bullshit. I'm sure Florida has some nice, public rehab facilities too! Can anyone corroborate this?

Actually, unless the law was changed, when I saw a report of this on TV a while ago, they said the people who were forced to take the drug testing had to pay for the drug screening themselves. If they were clean, they would be refunded. If they weren't clean, tough luck.

Bullshit law.

So it will scare anyone who uses from even applying, they'll get the money and refuse funding to those who get false positives - so they can lower taxes on their rich friends - and meanwhile get the state money for themselves. This is just what Capitalism is - the rich exploiting the poor to make themselves richer. Disgusting.

Most people on drugs are doing so because they're not able to acquire proper assistance! So what the fuck they suppose to do now with this new bullshit law? Pray?

What about the poor people who will go hungry - and their children - because they happened to eat a poppy seed roll? Or those who can't afford the testing in the first place?
