Now this may surprise you but I actually liked O'Rielly's lat book....for the most part.

Today when i went shopping with my mom and my sister I picked up Al Franken's new book "Lies and the Lying liars who tell them" AND I picked up Bill O'rielly's new book "Who's Looking out for you"

I began reading both of them and I couldn't tell which was better.

Al's was hilarious, Bill's was serious but true(from what I read)

Now I know most people here wish o'Rielly would die a thousand deaths, but I'm a bit of a fan (not in his political beliefs, but I like his show, he's so outrageous it's funny)

Now I really wanted to give a fair analysis of both

And frankley i think both were really good books, despite the obvious differences in their beliefs.

I bought Franken's book because I've wanted it longer and I didn't know O'rielly had a new book out until about a week ago. I plan to buy O'reilly's book

I really hope you guys pick up both and give them a fair shake

I don't know. Bill can make better "points" sometimes, but Al Franken is an unyielding rod of justice! and makes correct points

I recently picked up a book called "Politicians, Partisans, and Parasites: My Adventures in Cable News" by a young talented author and political commentator, Tucker Carlson.

I couldn't put it down.

But seriously, I've read parts of Al Franken's book and found it hilarious. I haven't found myself able to look at Bill's book yet even though I did pass at the bookstore today. Maybe next time.

Bill O'Reilly's "facts" are highly dubious. Interpretations of a dickhead is a more appropriate term.

I've read Franken's book and besides being very funny to read, he uses the humor to deliver the message. The goal of the book was to debunk the rights rhetoric and I thought he did that beautifully. I think it was best illustrated in the Chapter about Wellstone's death and funeral. Right wing media and talk show hosts like O'Rielly, claimed it was a Republican witch hunt etc, but in reality, most of that media did not watch or attend the funeral. They were out to discredit Wellstone's name.

What Franken did to Coulter in his book was pure righteous poetry.

Having said that, I don't think I could read O'Reilly's book and take it even remotely at anything other than face value. He is the classic reactionary pedant.

Now I have to seek out Franken's book, just to see him rip Ann Coulter apart.

I also doubt I could read O'Reilly's book, and take it remotely seriously. I found a couple of Rush Limbaugh's books in a thrift store, so I bought them. I cannot stand to read more than two or three pages at a time.

One more thing: Did O'Reilly just put out another book less than a year ago?

Yes Franken's book is a must read, he rips everyone and it's hilarious. I really wish I could ahve been part of TeamFranken and worked on the book.

O'rielly's new book doesn't necassarily reflect his personality, his earlier books do

As for Rush....he's a "Big Fat Idiot"-Al Franken

in some cases, these books lack serious wit and could be pumped out on a monthly basis.
the whole humor-politics genre as Franken presents it has become rife with books that make little point and have even less sense in them.

Here's a intresting book I found:

The Oh Really? Factor: Unspinning Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/158322601X/qid=1065582460/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/103-1535566-2451858?v=glance&s=books) done by the Fairness Accuracy in Reporting.

Can you tell us a little more about this book? I havent heard about it until now.

I did just go pick up Michael Moores new book and am about to tear into it after this post.
I also picked up the latest copy of The Economist Magazine. in big letter on the front is says, "Wielders of mass deception. With a big picture of George (eat my) Bush and Tony Blair on the cover.

I finally feel like these mafiosos (wait thats being too nice) are finally getting exposed, just in time for the elections. I pray the citizens of the US listen this time!! Instead of following these idiots like herds of cattle
