What is Mr. Natural doing on this unnatural computer? I have been forced to purchase and try to use one of these beasts. There is no other way to "communicate" these days, and there are few lengths to which I will not go in order to combat and transcend capitalism.
So I have to get up to speed on my mechanical beast and this site. The site, at least, seems to have much potential.
I live in the belly of the beast on the northwestern coast of California. Those outside the US would probably be shocked at the low level of political discourse here. The System has enveloped and captured Americans in mind as well as body, and there is little critique and no opposition to capitalism.
So I'm a very lonely boy. I'm a red-green revolutionary Marxist and there is no red-green revolutionary movement.
I apply the new sciences of the processes, patterns, and organization of life and the cosmos to human social systems. This is now possible. That's the "green" of my red-green.
The "red" comes from Marx and Engels, of course. They accurately revealed capitalism's malign nature 150 years ago.
Enough for now. Much more to come. I will appreciate any replies and suggestions as how to best navigate this revleft site and cope with my new beastly computer.
Venceremos!

Welcome indeed.

I'm sure that you will be able to find people on this site that you agree with, some you don't agree with at first but later see they make a lot of sense and force you to think in new ways, maybe some you don't agree with but enjoy disagreeing with, and some no doubt that you disagree with and don't enjoy discussing with at all - such is the nature of the great mixed fruit salad of Revleft, that along with the lovely grapefruit and related-but-different orange has some interesting banana and some god-awful melon.

Hmmm, fruit salad.

Anyway, welcome conmrade.

Blake's Baby,
Thanks for your message. I will have much trouble navigating the site and computer, but I will persist.
I find your interest in Blake interesting. Joel Kovel, now the reigning American ecosocialist, is a big Blake fan. And Kovel's masterwork, THE ENEMY OF NATURE, is my one "must-read" among recent Marxist works. ENEMY conclusively exposes capitalism as an unredeemable system opposed to life, and it presents a natural, "ecosystemic" revolutionary response to The System of our impending destruction.
Most of ENEMY (2002) is clearly written for a popular readership.

Cork Socialist,
Thamks for your reply to my intro. What is the ideological root of the Irish Socialist Party? I'll bet it's Trotskyist. In any case, it;s cool to be 18 and an Irish revolutionary. Brits out!
I'm having expected trouble navigating site and computer, but I believe you had requested book recommendations. I heartily recommend Joel Kovel's ENEMY OF NATURE (2002). Kovel now heads the American ecosocialists, and ENEMY conclusively indicts capitalism as an unredeemable horror, and it then offers a natural, "ecosystemic" revolutionary response. Most of ENEMY is clearly written for a popular readership.

Welcome to the forum, Mr. Natural. The red and the green fits together, because the answer to both problems is largely the same: One solution, Revolution!
