Hey, folks. I've been browsing the forums for a bit and I'm really digging the discussion. Some of it goes over my head but I'm willing to put in the time to learn about these things because they've become increasingly interesting to me over the past few weeks.

I'm a recovering addict. I started a blog recently to help me focus on sobriety.

The recent closures of needle exchanges, safe injection sites, shelters etc. by Canada's new conservative government has kind of spurred me on to get off the streets, clean myself up and try to attain some of my goals.

I've been reading quite a bit and it looks like the political landscape of both the US and Canada have changed drastically since I was last interested in politics... it's gotten pretty insane. I'm hoping I can be a part of the movement towards a future of open, transparent governments who make sure they're genuinely working towards the betterment of society as a whole and not simply bending to special interests.

I look forward to chatting with you all!

Welcome mate I was in a similar situation for a while about 4 years ago. Drop me a pm if you ever need to talk about it.

Hey, Bubba, Welcome!
I'm in recovery, too (from drugs and alcohol). But quitting the capitalist system is proving much more difficult. Canadians and Americans are addicted to capitalism, and there is no effective opposition.
Yet. But revleft provides a forum we can use to radicalize our passive Western politics. Let's do it!
