I would PM TheVeganMarxist or any of the other published authors on revleft to see if they have some pointers for you. What kinds of books are you publishing by the way?

Just get Engels to do it.

Well, that depends on what kind of books you're writing. You'd probably be better off asking on a forum for writers, but we may be able to help here with more details.

I pirated a book and sent an email to the author, I got a very unexpected response. (http://i.imgur.com/b2PPv.jpg)

That was awesome, that Andy Harris guy must be pretty great. I think in the future the state should subsidize authors because it would be most efficient and help both consumers and authors.

Here they are comrade. I'm not sure if he has written more though, but this is from his website.

Do many people buy these books? Genuinely without meaning to be negative or rude, they have a somewhat amateur appearance, and there are a couple of grammatical errors on the back covers.

If you want to publish a book that will reach a wider market, it is better to see which publishers publish works with similar topics, and post them a manuscript. Though the real thing you need to increase your chance of success is an agent.

"please also let me know the best place to order it from that gives you the maximum profit"

My outfit, the Orange Press (http://theorangepress.com/publications/index.html), got started almost forty years ago. I wanted to publish a Viet-Namese folk-tale to benefit the North-Vietnamese Red Cross (long story: the folk-tale had been brought back by a French CP member who was then banned from publishing it by the Party). Anyhow, it seemed pretty stupid to publish the story with a commercial American publisher since the profits would be reinvested in bombs to bust up the same Viet-Namese we were trying to put back together again.

Way back then you needed a loft with a printing press, etc., which was graciously provided by an anarchist collective called Come! Unity Press. Now, of course, you can print on a tabletop laser, or e-publish, so it sounds as if it would be a lot easier. Unfortunately, there are three tricky aspects to publishing a book: design, production and marketing. Design is great if you enjoy using the software; production - well that's a cinch these days. But the real dog is marketing. If you want to get your stuff out to five people who you think might enjoy it, be my guest. If you hope to actually get people interested enough to buy the thing (no matter the price - I do flexible pricing anyhow), prepare yourself for a lot of work and a lot of heartache, because that's where the rubber hits the road. It's kind of like making Revolution: be careful what you ask for.
