On a serious note, I might cover up an old tattoo (my only non-political one) with something, however, I don't know what. I already have the S.A.C. red and black flag, and I considered another red and black flag or star, but idk. What I'm covering up isn't too big, and it's only black. I rather cover it up rather than get it laser off... fucking ow! I want a video game tattoo sometime in my life, but idk how that would look if i'm covering up something completely black.

I dunno if this is feasible given the locus of your current tat, but I suppose you could borrow my idea if you ask nicely. Over the black bit, have some protest marchers done... Y'know, raised fists, picket signs, maybe a Kalashnikov raised overhead, but have all of them drawn in silhouette. Then at the front, you have a silhouetted person waving the only thing in color: a red and black an-syn flag... Presto!

You can't cover a black tattoo with a red one.

When looking at coverups you want something that is a)big and b)detailed/has a lot of movement.

In our shop to do coverups we reccomend things like old school roses/flowers, koy fish/stuff with scales or waves, or something involved smoke/clouds.

There are also some super traditional or old school choices, like a panther or an 8 ball.

But remember, big (like 1.5-2 times the size of what you're covering) and with a lot of stuff going on, so that it breaks up what you have there now.

Thanks for the advice, man. Yeah, because it's only black, I considered (another) red and black flag (different version). I know putting red over black wouldnt work, that's why I was thinking about having the black half of the flag cover my current tattoo. I don't have any other ideas, but I do want a detailed tattoo of something. As much as I want to cover it up, I'll probably sit on the idea for a long time...

I just went to the tattooist yesterday to get a celtic tree of life sketched up for my forearm :) the design is kinda based on the Taste of Eden logo (https://fbcdn-profile-a.akamaihd.net/hprofile-ak-snc4/50313_143835365665862_2185828_n.jpg) (it's a really small picture, but you can kinda see it), but with roots and stuff instead of the little hammer
