It's theorized that you can get from one wikipedia article to any other within 5 clicks... So far I haven't found a way to disprove this, even with the most random stuff anyone could think of.

like toner -> grapes

Toner -> Paper -> Ancient Egypt -> Greece -> Dionysus -> Grapes. 5 clicks.

Or Chinchillas -> October Revolution
Chinchillas -> South America -> Socialism -> Marxism -> October Revolution

It's really stupid but kind of addictive and interesting how everything on Wikipedia is super-interconnected like this....

Can someone disprove this? Lol.

Lets try with people. Sachin Tendulkar (Indian cricketer) and Karl Marx.

Sachin Tendulkar -> Mumbai -> Economy of India -> Soviet Union -> Marxism -> Karl Marx

Yep, it works.

I started with Jurassic Park and got to Hitler in 3 clicks. Also Dijbouti - Hitler in 3 clicks. Same with 'Vacuum state'. :lol: See if anyone can find something over 3 clicks to Hitler.

There has been a Wikipedia game based on this for years. It's called Mornington Crescent. You pick a random page, and then you try to get to the article on the Mornington Crescent tube station in London in the least number of clicks.

It's based of the radio game Mornington Crescent from I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue on the BBC.

A game I played on another forum was to get from the article of the day to hitler in as few clicks, it's rarely over 3, as long as you can get to a nation in one click, you can pretty much get to Hitler in two.

Article -> Nation -> WWII -> Hitler

Fewer if it's a major nation from WWII.

We used to pIay a game at schooI instead of working where we'd race from one wiki articIe to another in the same fashion - was based on time rather than cIicks though - we caIIed it wiki races, Iike wacky races init

If you click the first link in any article that isn't in italics or otherwise you'll eventually get back to Philosophy.

Yawn. Back in the analog days, people played this game at parties, it was done with actors and it was called Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

Yeah, but that requires you to actually watch movies and know stuff. Who seriously does that these days? :rolleyes: Psssshhht, old people. :lol:
