praxis1966

I was just wondering if there was anybody else as stoked to see this documentary as I am. It's coming out pretty soon in limited release with screenings to be scattered throughout the US in a good chunk of the major metro areas.
For those who don't know, it deals with the No Wave artistic movement that came out of NYC from about 1976 and lasted roughly 10 years, give or take. I'm certain the film itself will focus on the filmmakers associated with it, guys like Jim Jarmusch and Amos Poe. But, as it was an outgrowth of the punk renaissance going on in the city and No Wave films were imbued with its same DIY ethos, I'm sure that'll be discussed as well. Further, the trailer has quite a few shots of Jean-Michel Basquiat, so it looks like it'll be dealing with the movement's visual art aspects as well. In other words, it looks like it'll be a great cultural documentary on an under-appreciated artistic movement.
