We had some flooding in my province recently and in order to protect the town, the army came and filled a shitload of sandbad and installed many temporary dam to block the water.

Its all over now but the governement refuse to ask soldier to clean up the mess they did beccause its something the PRIVATE SECTOR can do.

this is so fucked up, i dont know where to start. i mean fuck, last time i checked soldier where paid even when they are at the military base sat on their hand all day, why not ask them to just clean the mess while they are here? that would be an investement.

its gonna be the folks at the town that will be forced to paid from their pocket to hire a private contractor that wil unload the sandbag and disassemble the dam.

this is so fiscally fucked up and stupid, i just want to punch something right fucking now.

and its completely illogical! we are paying those soldier to do nothing constructive 365 day a year, and when finally, they can do something constructive, we decide not to employ them and ask some frigging private contractor to clean up at an exorbiting price. Well there is only 1 town hit in Quebec, i dont know about the flooded zone in manitoba.


and yes they have the intention to left over a million sandbag scattered all over the road and let the taxpayer hire a private contractor clean the mess.

Those folks down there are verry vulnerable, some have lost their home, other have thousand of dollars of fixing to do on their flooded homes.

Spraypaint 'the army are assholes' all over the sandbags, hundreds of times over. It won't make them clear it up but it will be satisfying to do, and its not like you're vandalising public property since this is now a private matter apparently.

I come from Quebec too and I find this situation really frustrating. It makes just no sense at all to me! But with all the financial troubles and material losses this has caused, I doubt people will be in a good mood to protest. They probably just want to go back to their homes now and forget the flood.
