1/ Liberals have been warned

Yesterday, only minutes after the provincial election results were announced, 10 members of the K-W Youth Collective walked into the campaign office of Kitcheners new Liberal MPP John Maloy. We unfurled a Youth Collective banner, and read the following speech to the startled audience:

To the new ruling government

The Spot and the K-W Youth Collective have fought long and hard against the anti-social offensive of the Tories, and we have lost many loved ones along the way. Now the Liberals have formed the government of this province, and we have no reason to think that you will not continue along the same path.

This is your official notice, that no matter what party is in power, our struggle against poverty, and for housing and justice for all will continue. We are also giving you notice that you have 4 weeks to stop the war on the poor AND to call a public inquiry into the murder of Dudley George. If not, we and our allies around the province will take decisive action against you.

You have been warned!

After the speech the Liberals began to chant John, John, John and we responded with our own chant of Housing for the people, housing for the people. We continued our protest outside the office until the Liberals went to a local bar to continue their party.

The struggle continues Bring in the new boss, same as the old boss.

2/ Amanda in court

Amanda Lamka will be in court this October 7th. We call on all supporters of the Spot and the K-W Youth Collective to come out and support her. Amanda has remained strong through here court battles and has defiantly raised her fist at each appearance. We say that Amanda should be released from secure custody. No one should be forced to stay in an abusive foster care home and then criminalized for running away.

VICTORY BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE!
