Is there any difference in a right and left raised fist?

I know alot of left wing people do this sign so... I guess one of you will know

Anyways, as to your question. I don't think it really matters. A fist raised in defiance is a fist raised in defiance no matter which hand it is. Don't know the history of it so I'll leave that to someone else.

Welcome to the forum!

The raised fist symbolizes you are choosing rock. So if a person raises two fingers, they symbolize scissors and will lose. However, an open hand symbolizes paper, and will beat rock!

All jokes aside, I don't believe it matters, but there are different meanings/versions of the salute. This wikipedia article is short, but you get the basic message.
