As for why I choose that........I'm still a little confused. I said I wanted Infantry, and then next thing I remember, I was recovering from a yawn signing some paper saying I was an Army Airborn Ranger. Yep, my OSUT training is 14 weeks long, my AIRBORNE Training is 3, going in under the job title of 11X1.

I'm no longer worried in the least about bootcamp, any fear I had of it has suddenly left me cause I know it's nothing compared to what's after. I swear, I'm not nearly as worried about Combat as I am about the training....did you say people die in training? I know they keep you up for days at a time and feed you nothing for like a week (any bugs I see crawing by me I'm eating, don't care, gotta get protein!), is that why they die?

Don't laugh when they get in your face.......gonna be a problem, cause I'm a grinner. I was grinning when they sworn me in, I can't help it. Got any tips on how to keep it down?

Got 4 months to run and do push-ups. I live on the Appalachian plateau right on the Ohio River, so got a lot of steep hills (that Plateau name is deceptive) and cliffs to climb. Got a couple of hillbillies that are going to teach me to shoot.

As for being a Ranger....I really don't care about what the trainging will benifit me afterwards, I know a couple of bussiness owners I can bum a job off of if I really need something, though I'll have to travel a good distance. I'm doing this because it needs to be done, people are backing out, since I said I thought the Iraqi and Afgan wars we're needed, it would be pretty hippocritical of me to stay out and let family men go off and die. I'm young and single, if someone should die, it's me I guess. I value my life, but put a higher value on those around me.
