all the artwork i own is from friends or family. get an artist friend or acquaintance to paint you up something cool, i think that's a much better thing to do than buying tacky cheap stuff. also, a map of the world on a wall is always cool i think. or film posters etc

Dali prints are always on hit. Also, I like old propaganda posters like the one I used in my avatar (see below). And if you wanna seem all sophisticated 'n' shit (ya know, for the ladies), get yourself an old movie poster or two... preferably one that's all in either French or Italian (see below).

On a serious note, I have a collage of black and white pictures (of Bob Dylan, Courtney Love, the Clash and John Lennon) that I cut out of magazines and my own pencil drawings (2 of Lou Reed, Jeff Buckley and Hunter S Thompson) on one of my walls, which looks quite nice (other people have said so, not just me!) and some AFed posters that I picked up recently. I think a mixture of posters and artwork is good, and old propaganda is always cool.

it has in reality really bright colors, interestingly enough it is printed by the CNT-FAI printing workshop so it must be an early one.
one of the brothers of my grandfather who where in spain with the brigades sended it to their father to raise money and more volunteers here in the netherlands, it must have been hidden somewhere during the german occupation as i cant see an well known communist jewish family who lots of are in the resistance keeping this in the house...

is it me or is it the font, but i get the feeling that that was supposed to convey bourgeois-democratic ideals. the people SHALL govern, but the intention of that art may be different than our perspective of the people actually governing.
