When Officer Trent Scott arrived on the scene, Henderson attempted to inform him of the driver's belligerent behavior and that the driver had been placed under citizens arrest. The officer allegedly told Henderson there was "no such thing as citizen's arrest in Alabama," and to "get out of the way, old man."

After Henderson tried to explain that he was only trying to help, Officer Scott placed him in an arm bar and slammed him face first into the ground, breaking his nose and eyeglasses. Henderson's wife, Dorris, watched from a wheelchair at the front window of her house, telling a 911 dispatcher that the officer was "beating the hell out of my husband."

At no point did Scott place Henderson under arrest or charge him with any crime, but kept Henderson handcuffed in the backseat of his police cruiser.
Roughly ten minutes later, Scott sent an ambulance that had arrived away, telling the paramedics that the elderly man "doesn't need an ambulance."

Takes a hell of a guy to beat the shit out of a defenseless old man who didn't do a fucking thing wrong. :cursing:

That's Alabama for you. If you act without the state's consent, you are victimized.

Yeah, cops in my state are psycho. Surprised to see this as police brutality down here normally doesn't get as much attention as other places.

This is disgusting behavior, albeit expected. Any outrage I have over the matter is one that recognizes such acts happen all the time, and we (in general) turn a blind eye and ear. And, of course, it is Alabama. :cursing:

Thing is, Alabama does have citizen's arrests. I guess knowing the law is only this pig's thing when it gives him a chance to beat up some of them spics, niggers and old folks. What a piece of shit.

Absolutely ridiculous, sounds like an psycho, not suitable to be a cop.

If you believe this, you don't know what cops are for.

I try to give most of them the benefit of the doubt.

However, it turns out this officer was their "Officer of the Month" for November 2010.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if this shitbag got the "honor" again this month after this performance.

I don't know, there must be some personal circumstances to this that hasn't yet been revealed or this guy was just a goddamn repressed lunatic. Either way it's going to cost the city authorities a good deal in compensation.

Most cops I've encountered aren't really this violent or highly strung, maybe in Europe there's a slightly higher standard, but of course they hate hippies/protesters/anyone who sticks out. But they NEVER turn on those who are collaborating with them (ie: even ordinary citizens who report stuff to them). They're too clever to bite the hand that feeds them and provides for their existence.

I don't know, I can't remember having a positive encounter with police. In fact every cop I've encountered was a dick, and the ones I personally know(through no fault of my own mind you) are pretty authoritarian and end up beating the shit out of people off the job and get away with it because they're the police.

What area do you live in the U.S.? Or maybe you're rich, they don't fuck around with rich people.

I must apologize for my early rudeness, I just gave this guy the Schneiderman over the phone.
