Glenn Beck to hold Jerusalem rally

Glenn Beck announced on his radio show Monday that he is planning to hold a rally in Jerusalem in August called "Restoring Courage." Beck's "Restoring Honor (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/28/becks-restoring-honor-ral_n_697873.html)" rally drew vast crowds (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/30/glenn-beck-rally-attendance_n_699713.html) to Washington, D.C. in August of 2010, but Beck said that drawing as many to Jerusalem will be more difficult.
Beck went to Israel and Jerusalem last week. He warned his listeners on Monday that he thinks disaster is imminent for Israel, because of a "two state solution that cuts off Jerusalem" from the world.
"God is involved in man's affairs, but so is the force of darkness," Beck continued ominously. "I believe I've been asked to stand in Jerusalem. Many in the history of man have had the opportunity to stand with the Jewish people...and they have failed." He asked listeners to "stand with me, in Jerusalem" in August.
Beck candidly admitted that he didn't know how many people would show up, or how much the event would cost. But he called the rally a "life altering event" and warned that the "very gates of hell" would fight his attempts to hold the rally.

Beck's schtick is to say one thing, promote another.
He's pushed the idea that jews killed Jesus in his "critique" of liberation theology, he's pushed others like Elizabeth Dilling (a paleonazi), Ford (specifically an anti-semitic book of his), Alex Jones (who might as well go and admit he thinks the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are legit), his dissertations on Soros and other liberal jews (and I'll note he picked 8 liberal and socialist jews as most of his 9 most evil people in America ever, the 9th being a trade unionist) tend to be done in dog-whistle terms that dip into Der Stürmer levels of "evil j00z", and would make Pat Buchanan proud (including his use of statements by the blatantly anti-semitic former prime minister of Malaysia), to the point where I've seen a few people mockingly call these episodes Der Ewige Soros (it's not exactly new: the american right uses "new york liberal" as a codeword for Jew when they're trying to say something anti-semitic with plausible deniability - San Francisco value is a stand-in for queers, Hollywood liberals is about jewish queers (and there was a short-lived one Streisand liberal which stood for liberal jewish feminists but it was too blatant; they're currently in the business of refining their dog whistle bullshit for african americans, too (see "food stamp president"))), and of course there's his recurrent bullshit about liberal and reform jews being essentially islamists. It's dispensationalist fundie bullshit. We're still all going to hell, all getting massacred on judgement day, and the loons who want to impose school prayer and state christianity don't give a fuck about jews as people, they only care about the jew as a theological concept, theological concept which as an aside also killed their messiah, is being punished for its evil on a repeat basis, and apparently according to which Hitler was a jew doing the work of god.
