Well I learned today about Marxism. And I must say, his ideas weren't that bad. I like his idea that the money you earn is for you and not for anyone else, that would be great to have since than you don't have to pay taxes to keep the worthless, sorry workless people in life. But I don't figure how they got from that to the far softer socialism

Actually, I think Desert Fox is alright. Loknar is a bit of a jerk, though. But that's just my opinion.

There isn't anything wrong with communism, capitalists are just greedy. Come on, say it with me now, "I don't care about anyone else because I'm complacent".
What is wrong with communal living? Do you deserve more than anyone else?
Laziness is propagated by this wonderful westernized civilization, and just because you would prefer to do nothing all day doesn't mean everyone else would.

I agree with Drake.
Look, the reason you think many commies today differ from Mrax is because most commies you have been in contact (because we all know this board is the only place you have ever met a commie) with are little middle school kids. That is what the majority of this board is.
Show me one instance of some of the more educated members of this board contradicting Marx.

The "worthless" workless people would not be workless because you wouldn't have greedy-ass capitalists understaffing places, to squeeze every last cent off of you.

I'm glad you're taking up an interest in Marxism, but you obviously need to study more before you make yourself look like an ass with unfounded assertions about Marxism. Communism cannot contradict Marxism because Marx was a communist. He wrote the Communist Manifesto. The reason why he seeks to end the practice of attaining money from others, is because this is what capitalism is. Capitalism gives people the "freedom" to concentrate the profit from the labour of thousands and use that capital to subjugate the masses. This clearly creates inequality, prevents democracy, creates exploitation, and creates oppression, it ultimately creates slavery. So now you see why communists seek to abolish wage labour and the free market, i.e. the practice of attaining money from others.

Agreed
In fact if he saw what they have done in his name in such totalarinist countries like Soviet and China, he'd be turning in his grave.

He means that the profits should go to the workers and not to the holder of productive means, the capitalist.
I am willing to offer a part of mine and the communal produced products and services to those who can't work. Such as handicapted, elders etc.
But I am not willing to do that for someone who is in good shape and is not willing to work.
According to the same principe I am not willing to give the "fruits of my labor" to some capitalist, who owns the means of productions.
Owning means of productions often means that that person is getting an unfair advantage on economical and power era. Thats why they should be owned by the state and thus the all the workers.

Yes, but there are only a few rotten apples on this board. Who can't form a valid argument, but most of these commies have good arguments and are more rational than the minority of this board.

Well, I always are willing to learn more, even about systems I don't really agree with. If I would never want to read about what forms of communism there are, and just condemn it. I would be a bigger fool than the one some people take me for :P But you are right, I have only seen one lesson about it and don't fully understand the man. Are there any good books about him ?

Well I concur, I would have no problems giving a part of the money I would earn to elders or so. But I won't give any $ to the leeches who will not work. And sad enough they are the ones abusing this system in belgium and that makes we hate the etire social security system here in Belgium
