Personality Cults.
They were necessary because they attempted communism before capitalism.
Silly.

You have to admit, the poster was a bit funny.

I don't think personality cults are neccessary at all. That goes against everything that Marx said. You know, the never having one leader stuff.

And if you think that there isn't hero worship going on in the states, you're farther gone that I thought.

It took them 20 years to build that thing on Mt Rushmore, from the 20's to the 40's

Personality cults are for egotistical idiots. Who cares who the President/PM is as long as they can govern the country correctly

I like this part:

Sources close to the new government indcate that the poster of Mao may be planning a summit with a marble statue of Josef Stalin by year's end. Some US observers have speculated that a meeting between the Mao poster and newsreel fotage of President Truman could happen as soon as middle of next year.

:D

I see a red X.

You know, that red X made me renounce my ideology, and become a hardcore conservative capitalist. Thanks Babylon5!

Well lets take the average North Korean.

Get up 4 am
Leave housing accommodations 4:25AM
On the way to work what does he see? ON every street corner Kim Jong Ils fat ass giving tips to nuclear physicists on how to make the bomb go boom.

7AM
--Newsflash--
A little girl accidentally walked out into a street and was hit by a motorist. Kim Jong Il was the first on the scene and promptly treated the injured girl.

9AM Coffee break (Yeah they probably don’t do this)
He heads to a small break room, on the way he sees a picture of Kim Jong Il drinking coffee, provided by "Kim Jong Il inc.".

12:15PM He finishes lunch early, he has time for a small walk. On the way out he sees Kim Jong ils fatass in a jogging suit with a walkman.

12:20PM He starts to head back. What does he see? A 50foot tall statue of Kim Il Sung. On the way back he hears loud speakers encouraging hard work.

3PM He is reassigned to work on industrial maintenance He receives a manual authored by Kim Jong IL and is expected to finish it asap.

4PM Finally he goes home. On the way home he sees all of these pictures of Kim Jong IL. "Wait, why am I starving while that man gets fatter by the day?" He mutters this out loud and shocks a few people.

4:01PM Arrested. Never seen again.

If you want to talk about cult worshiped then you should also know that Kim il is worshiped by some North Koreans as a God. Is that Communism?

They were not "personality cults", and even if they were (and they were not!), it is not as if Stalin and Mao wanted them. They were not dictators who had absolute control and who could do such things. Besides, it heightens revolutionary spirit.
