Wearing an old t-shirt I have proudly proclaiming "No Gods- No Masters" I was told I was offensive by some religious guy handing out literature on a street corner. That I was 'leading the kids away' and destroying our culture blah blah blah....

Then it hit me. Instead of trying to apologize or falling into the non-thinking mans screaming match, I turned the tables.

Your religion, sir, offends me because you spit on my history.

The history in which my ancestors, bless them, decided to get out of the tree and walk upright. A history in which we looked that saber tooth cat firmly in the eye and told him that he can go fuck himself, we're the top of the food chain now motha fucka'.

Those other 'humanoid' species that crawled out of Africa, thinking they might be the top? Yeah fuck you guys too it's time to make way for homo sapiens be-yotch. My molars and taste buds that make meat oh so tasty to me? I don't have God to thank, I have 10,000 generations that came before me.

And if you're going to deny my history, our history, by saying that I need to accept the belief that rather some hand in the sky made us what we are it is you, sir, who is not only being offensive but being a traitor to your race (homo sapien).

Had to share, quite a little victory for me :)

If the religious man is to adhere to conservative propaganda, you can also use this angle and his ideology against him.

"Accept jesus!? Me? I don't accept handouts from any gods! My species lifted itself up by its evolutionary bootstraps all on its own!"

Then you can revel in their confusion.

Minor correction. Your incisors and canines are for meat. Your molars are for vegetables.

I don't have God to thank, I have 10,000 generations that came before me.Minor correction. It's closer to 96,000 generations.

I assume that you actually read what this religious guy was giving out to make sure that their religious beliefs were in accord with your criticism, as elsewise you would probably look somewhat foolish.

I've always found parasites to be a better analogy. Like ticks digging into your flesh and sucking your blood. Like worms living in your intestine taking your nutrients. They can't live on their own, they live off you and make you weaker, and some give you diseases.

It was pretty damn obvious he was a fundamentalist.

But I understand what you're saying. Here in san diego a lot of pro-palestine, peace in general gathering happen and are arranged at the church of the brethren for example.

It doesn't matter what religion the guy ascribed to, apparently it was such that he felt justified to insult a fellow human being simply because they did not share that same belief, presumably that exact same belief. Nice response, I'd personally just have lol'd at his hypocrisy, a religious nut talking about 'luring kids'
