I'm a capitalist with a low IQ. But I repeat myself. Won't you please help me out here. Break it down and explain it for me. Help me to feel the outrage for myself.

He said:

"I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

The way I see it there are two ideas being expressed:
1. The speaker thinks McNabb got credit that the defense should have received for the success of the team.

2. The speaker thinks the media and the NFL hope a black quarterback, McNabb in particular, does well.

Are there other ideas being expressed here? Any other ideas that could be shown as being racist here?

Which of the two ideas I listed is racist?

It reminds me of the "Beavus and Butthead" cartoon. "Heh, Heh...Heh, Heh...he said tits". "Heh, Heh...Heh, Heh...he said black".

If there are any responses to my post, I'm sure 90% will call me a racist. I'm hoping, honestly hoping, there will be one post that helps me understand the outrage over what the speaker said.

Have a good time.

The speaker certainly appear to harbour Racist sympathies, and to the extent you agree with him I suppose you might.

I dont actually see what being a Capitalist has to do with anything here.

Frankly it all depends on how accurate his analysis is. Racial awareness does exist, and I dont find it impossible to believe that parts of the media might under some circumstances overstate the achievements of a man because he was black. On the other hand I hardly think its unique, or even unusual for a quarterback to be given a Disproportionate amount of praise for his team. What makes the writer look Racist is that he focuses only on this one example of disproportionate prasise (even assuming it actually is disproportionate).

If the writer is not at least mildly racist I'd be amazed. Ditto you (except that in your case I'd offer odds that its more than just mild).

The real bottom line is why the fuck do you care? Somoene got some unearned Kudos, BOO HOO. If I mentioned it every time I felt like that I'd do nothing but whinge my whole life through. So would most others. People do sometimes get Kudos and rewards they have not really earned, Get used to it, thats life.

the speaker happens to be the most covered Idiot in the history of the media. The man doesn't have a college degree, yet people still believe him when he says styrofoam is biodegradable.

I was happy that he was losing his voice, and I usually don't think that way
