Ga. Gov. Nathan Deal has signed HB 87 into law today. Over fifty protesters showed up to the Capitol as news leaked out about the private and secret signing of this bill. Protesters chanted "Shame!" and "Undocumented, Unafaraid" and about half the group went inside to demand that Gov. Deal sign the bill in front of real people. When supporters of the bill came outside to give interviews to news media, protestors ran to the barricades and began chanting "Racists!" Some called out the bill as a kickback to one of the Governors largest financial supporters, the Corrections Corporation of America, and others labeled the Capitol building home to "America's pre-eminent hate group".

Activists and community members have called for a People's Assembly at Trinity Church which is directly across the street from the Capitol building west face. Anyone who is concerned about what is happening and wishes to get involved is being urged to get out to this meeting. It will be a really good way to get involved and counter-act the influence of NGO's and turn this into a true people's movement.
