i've been a Christian all my life. i think it is by far the best religion in the world. i don't care what anyone says. and i like religious movies. Ben Hur. The Greatest Story. Jesus of Nazareth. but i like my christianity watered down. jesus gets whipped, he's nailed to the cross, and after ten minutes he peacefully dies after admonishing the theives to change their ways. three days later, he rises from the dead and everyone is happy.

but this new mel gibson movie kind of freaks me out. it's an hour and a half devoted to the crucifixion. even though i believe in jesus as my savior, i don't want to sit and watch him get physically tortured for an hour and a half in a foreign language. it's too bloody. who wants to see a poor man get whipped half to death and then strangle on a cross in vivid detail? nobody i know.

i like happy Jesus movies. not blood fests.

are any of you planning to watch the film when it comes out? there's been a lot of crap about the film being anti-semetic. i don't believe that. i think our country just has something against christians.
