How is this book? I have to read it for school and it talks about some Harlem riots, is this historical type fiction or just complete fiction? I'm pretty much oblivious to history in general so >_>.

Critiques of the book in general or opinions welcomed of course.

One of the finest American novels of the 20th Century. It does discuss the Harlem riot of, I believe, 1942, but it also gives a description of how the CP functioned in Harlem and how they betrayed their own people.
