www.Padmapper.com
A 'google maps' type site directly tied to craigslist and other rental website rent listings and shows all the rental properties available - rather than using keyword searches such as 'NW Portland' you just look at the map area where you'd like to live and see what's available there. There is a search filter in the bottom left corner of the screen that allows you to streamline your searches (price, size, etc...)

It's so much more useful than simply using craigslist- craigslist can be about as useful as a local newspaper :bored:

Awesome. A friend of mine could definitely use this.

Thank you so much. I'm actually looking for apartments and it's been rather frustrating. I have to get a place within a month or two, ahhh! So mucho appreciated.
this rules thanks! didn't get the first apt i found on it though, which sucks because it was the best apartment i have ever seen

What's the ballpark price you all pay for what you have (renting). I'm in a decent sized studio right now, close-in for about 600. I pay elec and gas (stove, which I haven't used often as I've been living on all the good east coast beer I can get at the one fredmeyer there on hawthorne blvd (they've got tons of singles)) It's also a 6 month lease which I like.
My only regrets are not bringing a bucket with me from the other place to dump boiling water on these trendy assholes making noise every morning at 2am outside my window and that I moved further away from work (15 minute drive). I'm not sure exactly how I ended up at this place- I worked my ass off to get it but my original plan was to move right next to a college so I could walk there. Incentive. But now I can further job opportunities by being within biking distance to the city. I think I planned that out alright.

Craigslist can be a best option, you can get lot of daily ads from there.

Not everyone uses Kijiji, so the local papers are still a good source.

Much obliged. This is much easier than scrolling through hellish, disorganized, shitty craigslist

Can somebody please help me find a cheap apartment in New York and the suburbs. I saw one for $600 dollars a month but already taken. I only want to stay for 2 months. I saw short term apartments once. I would like to assist CPUSA handing out leaflets and organizing. I live in Toronto, Canada. A bachelors apartment or studio would do.
