Afaik most wi-fi is inside, and thus climate controlled, so I don't understand bringing that up particularly.

Of a whole number of effects climate change could/will have, I don't see wi-fi being especially effected for the same reason I don't see food refigeration being especially effected.

As far as I know most people's houses aren't 'climate controlled'. In fact I only know one person who has air-conditioning at home, and even then only in one room. Contrary to popular belief the world isn't only the US nor is it all like the US.

I was thinking partly about offices, universities etc. But within homes, I think generally if you have a big enough house that you have problems with WiFi range because of high room temperatures, you can afford an air conditioner too. I have never owned an air conditioner and couldn't easily afford to get one, but there's also nowhere in or outside my house that I could plausibly use my laptop where I'm more than about ten feet from my router.

Universities and the vast majority of offices don't have it here either, and we have temperatures of over 40 in the summer.

Fair enough. I still think it's an odd thing to pick out among, say, possibly depriving hundreds of millions of people water and arable land.

Ummm, given the severity of climate change, I think wi-fi is the least of our problems.

Besides, as far as electronic technology is concerned, we should worry more about the next time a massive solar flare occurs.

Yes, that is a reasonable point. I was just in a bit of a grouchy mood at the time, sorry.
