To be perfectly honest, I do dig the look of most of the shoes MacBeth makes... But the real reason I bought them is that I'm a vegetarian and I was tired of feeling like a hypocrite for wearing leather shoes (MacBeth claims all their shoes are "vegan friendly" and they won some kinda award from PETA for it, lol). Besides, I got them on clearance for like $30, less than half the list price for most of their shit...

The most expensive item I own is a pair of £65 jeans. But then I neglected to pay for them, so it's not really as decadent as it sounds. I wouldn't spend that amount of money on clothes.
I only have 3 pairs of shoes - I have a pair of steel toe-capped boots that I've had for 5 years, and some trainer type skate shoe things. And my third pair are my housemate's which I've kinda adopted cause he never wears them. I don't understand how people are so willing to spend loads of money on clothes, even if I could afford to I don't think I would.

Thirty bones really isn't that much when you consider I live in the SF Bay... San Francisco has the second highest cost of living of any major metropolitan area in the US behind only NYC... And 90% of the clothes I own were either bought on sale or at a discount store like TJ Maxx or something.

Exactly this. Is it because you have some sort of irony complex that makes you think it's really cool to be ironic by being a leftist and buying clothes like the bourgeoisie? It strikes me as weird. Whatever. *goes back to making duct tape purse*

I don't buy clothes too often, so I tend to buy stuff that is kind of expensive but that fits well or will last. I'm not bothered about labels though. My shoes are vegetarian versions of doc martens, which did cost more but are more comfortable and have lasted better than any of the doc martens I've owned.

It really is funny. I said something about the quote "Property is robbery" in front of my parents and my dad was like "YOU GONNA GIVE UP ALL YOUR WORLDLY POSSESSIONS NOW? CAN I RENT OUT YOUR ROOM NOW? HURRR HURRR HURRRR" -_-
And then he told me that putting chocolate syrup in my milk is capitalist. well then.

Lol holy fuck
I buy my clothes from places like Value Village. Make the 'g' silent and say it with a fake french accent and it sounds like just another bourgeois mall store :P
I don't think I've bought an article of clothing more expensive then $10 in years, other than my loafers. Which were $12 or $15, I can't recall. And... I'm totally fine with cheap clothes. And other second-hand stuff. The jeans I'm wearing right now were $5. My plain white tee is $3. I'm wearing less than ten bucks.
I will admit to spending $60 on a backpack. Never been able to find those for decent prices.
I'm 'cheap'. Plenty of 'lighthearted Jew jokes' are thrown at me for my complete reluctance to spend any amount of money.

Ah, my bad, 'Bapes' for some bizarre reason made me think of pants. Never heard of that brand.
Sure lots of people have lots of things... Like 4 story homes, iPads, 60 inch televisions, Hummers, and employees.
I have a pair of dusty 'Spring' brand shoes that were given to me as a gift so I could 'look nice' when I went out. I don't wear them though, they're much weaker than my loafers. They would have probably cost around $60 at one of those mall stores. Maybe even more - but it's like $2 in material, which was likely three times as much as what they paid the kids to make them that week.
I can't comprehend throwing money at luxuries. It really feels like you're trolling but I don't know. All I can think of is the things I'd eat if I had $200 right now!

I've found that it's more sustainable to buy packs of white t-shirts and just wear different plaid/whatever shirts over them. That way you can wear the same shirt more than once a week and it won't feel sweaty/worn. Expensive "designer" t-shirts are pointless to wear every day, I only wear them when I go to a party or something.
Other than that my jeans are Calvin Klein and Levi's I guess, $60 and $40 respectively, and my shoes either Chuck Taylors for skateboarding/whatever or eurotrashy last-year $90 Skechers for hanging out. Guess I should buy real skateboarding shoes but now that I have calluses and it doesn't hurt anymore I guess it doesn't really matter.
It's not really expensive to have a wardrobe that doesn't make you look stupid that way, you just have to figure out what works for your lifestyle. Aesthetics are for clowns. (via icp)

At the moment I only have three pairs of pants, two of which are corduroys. As for shoes, I prefer the stereotypical angst filled teenager look so it's converse for me (albeit my current pair is my only pair of shoes and they're both torn wide open). I also go for the packs of white and black t shirts.

I actually find it ridiculously hard to find jeans that fit properly, and I haven't found any really cheap ones that do. I don't know if men really have the same issue, but if you're a woman and you don't have the "average" curves, finding clothes that fit really nicely can be quite hard.

It can be, depending on your waistline/inseam ratio. Most jean makers seem to think that if you're on the tallish side you must be rail thin or big as a house. It's hard to find jeans that are within what I'd call an average build once you get over a certain height.

I'm near enough two metres tall and really rather thin but most jeans that fit my waist are ankle swingers. Maybe Americans think of very different sizes as being "rail thin" but I honestly have trouble finding decent jeans for tall skinny blokes. My solution has always been to get ones of decent length and then use a modified belt (one into which I have drilled my own additional holes) to keep them on.
