I know it's more psychology than it is philosophy, but hey, I'm merging the two together now, because there's nowhere better for it, so...cognitive bias! I've been reading into it lately and find it pretty interesting. Many of the examples seem to have some potential effect on socialist practice, for example system justification theory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_justification), the just-world phenomenon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just-world_phenomenon) or (for some tendencies more than others :tt2:) the false consensus effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_consensus_effect). Of course there are a great many other potential applications, such as within behavioural economics and all that, but...has anybody else thought about such cognitive biases within socialist practice? Or am I the only one silly enough to do that...? :)
