I've just noticed this forum is visible when not logged in. Given that chit chat is private, would it not be even more appropriate for this forum to be as well?

Uh, this is a non-political but serious forum, and so if chit chat - a non-serious non-political forum - is private in order to give people a more leisurely space that isn't immediately visible to people who aren't members, surely this should be private too, especially given that it's more about people being able to discuss things of a more personal and serious nature? Having this forum open for anyone to view won't persuade anyone politically because this isn't what the forum is about, all it will do is let things of a more personal nature be open to public viewing.

This is still totally visible while not logged in. Its important to make it private so that it doesn't get google indexed and so that people feel comfortable talking here.
