Thousands upon thousands upon MANY thousands are dead. over 40,000 to be exact-and all the while the American media-my nation's media-ignore the conflict save only when something bad must be said about the rebels. My nation calls them "terrorists". My nation would rather see the whole people there eradicated then see another socialist state along Maoist lines pop up.
Yet, despite a US presence in the form of "counter-terrorist trainers", the people of the Philippines seem to be giving Uncle Sam and the reactionary puppet regime of the Philippines one hell of a fight.
What are your thoughts on the situation there. Do you see them as little more then terrorists? Revolutionary Communists fighting for national liberation from imperialism? in the meantime I'll tell you what I see: Revolutionary, brave, and noble people fighing for basic land and other rights, fighting to drive out neo-colonialist aggressors from another continent, a people bent not on world domination, but world liberation.
Being A Maoist myself I hope, sincerely, that the Filipino people can win there own socialist world. Long live the revolution!
